BosMadeLD takes us to East Coast Hip Hop Heaven via the ‘GraveYard’

Kicking off with a nicely phased solo guitar part before the bass thumps in and the hi-hats and snare join us, BosMadeLD’s latest track is proper old-school hip hop – explicit, in your face, honest, raw, and truthful.

The Mississipi-hailing artist delivered touches of Nas, 2-Pac maybe, that New York East Coast, Mass Appeal Records, Fashawn, Run The Jewels, Boldy James kind of vibe – all nine millimetres and smooth, relaxed flow sitting atop chilled yet urgent beats and a grooving bassline. BosMadeLD’s vocal is nonchalant yet powerful, poetic lyrics mixed with some serious imagery and delivery, and yeah, it’s got thump. This is proper rap, make no mistake, chest-thrusting, strutting, enjoyable, chilled, and tense all at once. Dope.

Sink into USUALLY MODEST’s poetically melodic Indie Hip Hop single ‘DESPERATE’

USUALLY MODEST has dropped their pioneeringly candid album ‘DREAMS OF LOS ANGELES’ which tightens the bond between Indie, Pop, Trap, RnB and Hip Hop and exhibits the artist’s ability to spin a compelling poetic narrative.

The perfect introduction to the 19-year-old artist’s style is DESPERATE. Most people would do anything not to appear desperate, but assuredly, USUALLY MODEST lays down those raw emotions without any hint of shame. Naturally, we found an overwhelming amount of respect for the artist relaying the emotions which most people only hear when they run through their heads in the early hours.

The soundscape is as stunning as the sentiment itself, the melodies and stunning cinematic infusions set the perfect tone for the poetic lyrics which will consume you from the first verse.

You can check out DESPERATE along with the rest of USUALLY MODEST’s album via Spotify.

Mowille – Number 1 featuring Damola Davis and Genesys

If you pride yourself on having the hottest Hip Hop artists on your playlists, you’ll need to make room for Mowille, especially after the release of their latest culturally-explosive EP ‘Odusty (Omo Durodola Son of the Year)’.

The intro track, ‘Number 1’, sets the perfect tone for the Nigerian-born, London, UK-based artist’s most dynamic release – to date – we have no doubt there will be plenty more to come from Mowille and their transxingly distinctive take on Hip Hop. With tender Indie Tones melding with African Rhythm in the RnB-influenced Rap track, you’d be hard-pressed to find another UK artist bringing such vibrant energy to the airwaves.

RnB Hip Hop artist Jay Towers has transcribed his soul with ‘Love Note’

Jay Towers dropped their most soulful single to date with the release of their fusion Indie, Hip Hop, RnB and Pop, ‘Love Note’. The vocal melody may just be the second most infectious thing to have come into fruition in 2020.

Romanticism without crass perversion in a Hip Hop track may be harder to find than a needle in a haystack, but Jay Towers was able to deliver the dominance of Hip Hop along with affable hints of affable soul in Love Note. Any fans of Post Malone will definitely want to pay attention the sun-kissed, melodically captivating hit which was officially released on November 27th.

Showing her you are serious: Kid Grim drops the fiery ‘Prada Cloths’

Young rapper Kid Grim has just dropped his debut 8 track album called ‘Under The Moon’ and ‘Prada Cloths’ is the hot new single, that is setting the standard of Indie Hip Hop in this crazy year of 2020.

The acoustic start is lively and the raps drive a hole through all the wack emcee’s that have smothered the charts with their weak rhymes. This is a fledgling rapper who has that extra fire that so many are lacking. You can feel his hunger as he bites through the bars to show her that he is for real.

He certainly is no average joe and wants to treat his girl with some Prada clothes and make sure she is relaxed with whatever she wants to do and taste. This beat sprinkles the speakers with a splendid bass and constant energy to lift us into the seduction that is taking place, with these sultry lyrical deliveries.

His vocals are striking and keeps the story hot and with purpose. This is a musician who is just making his name is the shark-infested waters of the music world but wants respect real quick to keep his street cred up there with the best. When you are young, you want that extra feeling that people know you and that you are looking fresh as can be too.

Prada Cloths’ is the new Hip Hop effort from the rising star Kid Grim. If he can stay focused, get his team tight, and build his name up brick by brick until he gets that breakthrough festival appearance to push his name out to the masses, this is an artist we need to keep a close eye on.

CRACK63X has released their subversively sweet Hip Hop track ‘PASSIONLESS’

If your Hip Hop playlists are crying out for fresh sticky-sweet Hip Hop which comes with a playfully sardonic kick, look no further than artist and producer CRACK63X’s latest release ‘PASSIONLESS’.

With the polyphonically enamouring melodies alongside dreamy ukulele strings and CRACK63X’s inventively witty rap bars which subvert the usual Hip Hop narratives, you can’t help falling into the high-vibe Indie Hip Hop mix which stands as a testament to the artist’s authenticity and ability to create an accessible yet distinctively distinguished track.  There’s a fair amount of grit in the lyrics, but the beats cushion the sniping candid lyrical blows which will definitely make their mark on the airwaves.

Ki$ama’s Foreign Cars is a gritty, dirty message to a broken heart.

Who doesn’t love a good, gritty ode to dreaming and aspiration and a message to a lost heart? All of us, surely, if only so we can feel better about ourselves for a few minutes? With Ki$ama’s ‘Foreign Cars’, we get the story of deceit and devotion, a modern freestyling hip hop tale of betrayal and requital over a trappy, chiming beats background.

From Ki$ama’s ‘Passages For The Broken’ album, ‘Foreign Cars’ has a dark, dirty vocal, all damage and desire and a yearning to prove oneself after duplicity and abandonment. It’s doomy and menacing in places, a clear shout of self-betterment in the ‘So many times you broke my heart/ One day I’ll be in foreign cars’ lyric which forms the chorus hook. It’s kind of rancorous without crossing the line into hateful, and there’s a clear hopefulness in the appetite for amelioration and progress pasted throughout the lyrics.

You can follow Ki$ama on Facebook and Instagram.

Mikey entwines Trap with Blues in their standout single ‘Sacrifices’

Indie Hip Hop artist Mikey dropped their soul-searching single “Sacrifices” earlier this year. With plenty of humbling and inspiring Hip Hop in the pipeline, there has never been a better time to jump on their sound.

With the repetition of the question “why me?” Mikey hammers home the injustice in the disparity of fairness. But within the verses of the cutting Indie Hip Hop single you’ll find positivity which allows the listener to realise that despite how unfair the hand you’ve been dealt or what struggles are put in front of you, you have the power to overcome them.

With old school bluesy tantalising guitar tones finding synergy with the concise Trap beats, the instrumentals offer plenty of depth, but that aural alchemy is nothing in comparison to the powerful lyricism which is forceful enough to seismically shift your mindset.

Oname let faith and soul take the lead in their ensnaring Indie Hip Hop track “Trust the Call”

Christian & Gospel Savannah, GA-born artist Oname let faith and soul take the lead in their latest melodically enticing Indie Hip Hop single “Trust the Call”.

The lyrics offer resounding positivity while Oname uses plenty of attitude to deliver them. It’s an aural manifestation of tough love which will take you to church through the convictive Drill Hop beats.

Oname’s music is an extension of his responsibility as a Youth Pastor. He uses his personal teachings and interlaces them with gospel to offer resonant contemporary messages designed to appeal to the younger generations who have the tendency of looking for meaning in lyricism.
