Bozaay – When I’m Gone: Candidly Resonant Melodic Hip Hop

https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=XUSe0ffi0e8&feature=share

If there’s any Hip Hop artist worth putting on your radar in 2020, it’s Bozaay. With their latest soul-steeped downtempo hit When I’m Gone the candidly resonant lyrics effortlessly draw you into the intensely emotive track.

If you find truly honest feats of Hip Hop as refreshing as I do, you’ll be bowled over by the sincerity contained in When I’m Gone.

The melodies in the Lo-Fi Trap hit may have been kept light, but the weight of the emotion certainly hasn’t. The short and bitter-sweet hit runs through Bozaay’s introspective when it comes to post-humorous status giving you a stark reminder of your own mortality. But despite the melancholy which has been thrown into the mix, the vibrancy of the notes offer nuances of optimism and resilience.

Orie Adams – Runaway Again: A Rhythmically Rendered Hip Hop Earworm

https://youtu.be/tgakeXAlVss

No Hip Hop instrumentals in 2020 have caught our attention in quite the same way as the enticing rhythms in Orie Adams’ latest single Runaway Again.

Winding Blues Rock guitar licks weave around the steady percussion and emotively weighted pensive notes to create the perfect platform for Orie Adams’ smooth, witty and charisma-soaked bars. There’s an effortless synergy between the beats and the steady soulful bars.

It’s all too easy to warm to Orie Adams as an artist, and it’s definitely not every day that we can say that. Quite honestly, he offers a sound which you could easily get obsessed with. At the very least, you’ll want to make Runaway Again a firm fixture of your Alt Melodic Hip Hop playlists. It’s an urban earworm which just won’t quit.

While not many Hip Hop artists are prepared to wear their hearts on their sleeve in their tracks, Rockstar Marcus’ latest album “Apocalypse” makes for an indulgently refreshing change.

The standout track “Battlefield” is the perfect introduction to the up and coming artist’s RnB soaked approach to evocative Hip Hop. It’s romantic, it’s smooth, and it’s a testament to their talent when it comes to creating hook-filled beats and synergetic arrestive lyrics.

With the lyrics undoubtedly containing a piece of Rockstar Marcus’ soul combined with a gentle melodic Indie Hip Hop beats, your own soul might be broken if the emotive weight behind this single fails to resonate.

Prepare for the Emotive Sting of Comp Keyz’ Standout Single “Sauce Man”

You’ll have seen Hip Hop artists blow up for FAR less than what you will find in the standout single “Sauce Man” by up and coming artist Comp Keyz.

While I’ve heard my fair share of emotively driven Trap music, I’ve never felt the weight of a Trap single crawl under my ribs in the same way as Sauce Man did. The soundscape may be light downtempo and ambient, but make no mistake, it’s resoundingly heavy.

Whether it was the pensive yet optimistic melody or the husky, humble, captivatingly poised RnB-soaked Rap bars which hit the hardest, I can’t be sure of. But what is painfully evident that Comp Keyz may be one of the most criminally underrated artists we’ve heard in a while.

Alt Rap Artist Mordux Has Made Their Debut with their Single “Skin”

If you’re tired of hitting play on ‘Alt Hip Hop’ tracks which don’t possess a hint of authenticity, you’re definitely going to want to check out Mordux’s debut single “Skin”.

Fans of artists such as Yelawolf who incorporate elements of melodic Rock into Hip Hop are sure to appreciate the intricately rhythmic flawless feat of urban genre-mashing found in Skin.

Through the Rock infusion, Skin unfolds with the familiarity of a 90s Rock single, but through the solid Hip Hop structure, Mordux has proven that their prodigal flair deserves a spot on contemporary airwaves. Not all artists have the ability to drop a complete earworm as their first single, but perceptibly, Mordux isn’t your average up and coming artist.
