Time To Fly: Ohio singer-songwriter Zack Fletcher urges us to live for those who are sadly gone on ‘The Traveler’

Peacefully blessing us with the first release from his much-awaited five-track ‘Ohio Reveries‘ series, Zack Fletcher sings with such meaningful grace on the reflectively brilliant story about living for now on ‘The Traveler‘.

Ohio-based indie-folk singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Zack Fletcher, performs with a deeply rooted soul and is the type of artist who you turn up loud, as his calming voice is lathered with such haunting emotion.

Throughout the years Fletcher has continued to perform and write, often out of necessity. Music is his way to filter his experience, to process the trauma, relieve the burdens, and celebrate the beauty.” ~ Zack Fletcher

This is the true story of living for today and appreciating those who have been sadly lost in such a short space of time. After losing a few really close friendships recently, this is all about being in the here and now, no matter what. Life is so scarily fragile and you need to be in the moment, before its all over in a flash.

Fletcher’s musical focus in recent years has been as the creative force behind Moths in the Attic, but he has been honing his skills since his early teens by performing with various ensembles, including several years as lead guitarist for the hard-rock quartet Flaming Hot Marbles.” ~ Zack Fletcher

The Traveler‘ from the world class Bowling Green, Ohio-based indie folk singer-songwriter Zack Fletcher, is such a beautiful song from a truly incredible artist, with that rare soul. He sings with a beautifully worthwhile style – and this is a tremendous track which might cause a tear or two – made with that determined love.

Live for now, and appreciate who is in your life. Tomorrow might change everything.

You Never Used To Give In: Laurel Canyon singer-songwriter Remy Sher misses that last dance in ‘Paris’

https://soundcloud.com/remysher/paris/s-mVtnbiZKSFI

Following on from his terrific ‘Fool’s Gold EP‘ from 2020, Remy Sher is absolutely stunning on his latest single all about that sad heartbreak that just can’t be repaired like before on ‘Paris‘.

Remy Sher is an eighteen years-young soulful indie-folk/rock solo musician, nature lover, and impressive multi-instrumentalist from mountainous Laurel Canyon, Los Angeles. He makes that classic sound from a peaceful place which is influenced from all the world class artists who have come from his area, as he sings with such a tremendously likable style.

A self-produced indie-folk tearjerker, Sher blends acoustic guitar with warm harmonies and synthesizers”. ~ Remy Sher

This is one of those warm and resplendent listens that shows you into his beating heart, as Remy Sher lovingly takes us on a road-trip through his understandable emotions – to a place which shows us what happened – when they were supposed to be together forever. The lost love blew away like the gushing wind, as he is left to pick up the pieces and mend his fences which have been broken from being let down, so that he may open up his soul again.

Paris‘ from the incredibly skilled and youthful Laurel Canyon, Los Angeles indie-folk/rock singer-songwriter Remy Sher, is the sad story about wishing you could of had that romantic stroll in one of the most romantic cities in the world. You recall looking for those elusive fairies together and being so close – however the long distance away from each other took such a heavy toll after a while – and you couldn’t quite bring it together no matter how hard you tried.

Love can be so harsh sometimes, especially if it means more for the one person than the other.

https://soundcloud.com/coreymejia/lostdreams/s-WrogjXnaMJk

If Tom Smith broke away from the Editors and started a solo project, we’re fairly certain there would be stark reminiscences to singer-songwriter Corey Mejai’s latest release, Stuck inside a Lost Dream.

The downtempo release allows the acoustic guitar chords to dominate the minimalist instrumental arrangement that is laced with trippy ethereal effect to add even more mesmerising beguile to the post-punk tinged indie-folk single.

Stuck Inside a Lost Dream is due for release on July 21st; you can check it out for yourselves by heading over to Soundcloud. For more info, head over to Corey Mejai’s website.

Marc Delgado tells The Cautionary Tale of Richard Manuel

The Cautionary Tale of Richard Manuel is the indie psych-folk debut single from Woodstock-based, California-born singer-songwriter Marc Delgado. If the styles of Paul Simon, the National and Dinosaur Jr coalesced, the sonic result wouldn’t be all too far from Delgado’s debut that pulls the storytelling roots of folk up through a sleek and modern production.

The kicking beat, lofty colourful guitars and spacy synths converge to create a psychedelic platform for Delgado’s instantly magnetic vocals that draw you in by the unapologetically unadulterated passion to provide 3:28 minutes of total aural escapism.

The Cautionary Tale of Richard Manuel is now available to stream via Spotify.

ELLSWORTH delivers 70s Americana escapism with ‘Potholes’.

ELLSWORTH

Oregon-born folk singer-songwriter ELLSWORTH’s latest single, Potholes, carries the same amount of soul as Jack Johnson’s consoling releases, the Americana escapism of Dylan’s records in the 70s and the same melancholic air that truthfully resides in us all from time to time.

The relatability in this façade-less dreamy feat of folky bluegrass indie sweetens the already choral tones. With lyrics such as ‘turn my body inside out, I shook it real hard, nothing fell out’ for your mind to devour, you’d have to be dead from the soul down not to feel something as you listen to Potholes weave through the stunningly composed progressions.

The rain pours in Tew’s stormy seminal release, ‘Vessel’

New

Up and coming UK-based singer-songwriter Tew is set to release his seminal single, Vessel; the stormy yet simultaneously delicate semi-orchestral single offers a profoundly captivating atmosphere, amplified by the cutting timbre of Tew’s vocals.

It is one of those increasingly rare singles that is artful as it is sonically enticing; the alchemic experimentalism retracted none of the emotional potential. Instead, Tew used it to reflect those feelings that you can never really find the words for, those moments of absolute chaos that make it feel like the ground exists at the mercy of your perception.

Vessel is due for release on July 21st. You can check it out for yourselves on all major platforms via this link.

Folk meets Britpop in River Knight’s latest single, She Came Round, featuring Ralph Walling.

https://soundcloud.com/river-knight-613028707/she-came-round-1

Americana meets UK Britpop in River Night’s alt-folk single, She Came Round, featuring Ralph Walling. While instrumentally, the semi-orchestral folky instrumentals run in the same vein as Dylan’s did in the 70s, there’s a touch of Oasis and the Stone Roses to the vocals that contrast with the accordant tones of the acoustic guitar progressions.

She Came Round is just one of the authentically original singles from the Southampton-based duo’s lockdown-born album, Grow, which released on June 25th. With plenty of tour dates in their diary, 2021 could very well be the year of River Knight.

She Came Round is now available to stream via SoundCloud.

Roderick Jaynes take us to ‘The Bridge’ with his latest indie-folk single.

https://soundcloud.com/roderick-jaynes

San Francisco’s rising singer-songwriter Roderick Jaynes is set to release his most versatile single to date, The Bridge. With a grungy interlude that will make any fans of Dinosaur Jr prick up their ears, The Bridge is an indie chamber folk-pop track that keeps on giving.

As the progressive single picks up momentum and discord, the nuancedly psychedelic soundscape shunts you further down the rabbit hole as the descending piano keys and apathy-ringing chord progressions transgress into a form of aural gravity.

Any fans of Elliott Smith, Nick Drake Radiohead or Phoebe Bridgers won’t want to miss out on this evocatively haunting, stylistically artful release.

The Bridge is due for release on May 28th; you’ll be able to check it out for yourselves by heading over to SoundCloud.
