Hazy Hip Hop

Daniel Foster brings the hazy high vibes in his latest single, So High

New Jersey-born, LA/Las Vegas-raised hip hop artist, Daniel Foster, has released the ultimate hazy high-vibe hip hop playlist staple with his single, So High.

The melodic grooves wrap around the snappy 808s to prop up Foster’s vocals which run under just enough effects to synergise with the beats, but not enough to strip any of the emotion or soul from the earworm. While the lyrics bring the fire, the new wave hip hop beats provide the catharsis; it’s a vibe.

So High is now available to stream on SoundCloud.

Young Corrupt’s latest feat of mellow hip hop ‘Lost Faces’ will leave you lusting for the simple life.

With their hard-hitting approach to hazy lyrical Hip Hop, it comes as no surprise that Young Corrupt has been able to amass plenty of hype with their honest, gritty and confrontational tracks since making their relatively recent debut.

If you’re yet to be acquainted with Young Corrupt’s lyrical wit, their mellow vibeout playlist staple ‘Lost Faces’ will prove to be the perfect introduction. The beats follow sensual grooves, while Young Corrupt adds plenty of energy to the  mix through their strident Rap bars which paint the plaintive struggles of 21st century romance and leave you yearning for the simple life.

Jase Emeka has dropped their trippy and playful high-vibe Hip Hop single “The Dream”

UK-based experimental Hip Hop artist Jase Emeka has dropped their most playfully inventive single yet with “The Dream”. It can be hard to find authenticity amongst up and coming artists, but you’d be hard-pressed to find an artist offering as much soulful charisma as Jase.

The Dream kicks off with an extended trippy and hazy instrumental prelude before Jase comes in with his humility-soaked spoken word vocals. Of all the Hip Hop intros I’ve heard as of late, none allowed me to feel as endeared as The Dream did.

When the slow tempo smooth Rap bars kick in, you’re hooked by the lyrical melodies which find perfect synergy with the light, warm and grooving beats. For my sanity’s sake, I’ll definitely be placing The Dream on my playlists and Jase on my radar. If dreamy melodic Hip Hop which oozes soul is your bag, I’d highly recommend that you do the same.
