West Wickhams – Where the Creatures Rule: Horror Noir Has a New Sound

There’s no better introduction to the Psychedelically-inclined Dark Punk duo, West Wickhams’ sound than the horror noir single ‘Where the Creatures Rule’.

The entrancingly dark single will undoubtedly enthral any fans of Bauhaus, while the accompanying music video pays ode to one of the greatest horror films ever made, Romero’s ‘Night of the Living Dead’, obviously.

I can’t help but feel that Where the Creatures Rule has very ‘2020’ connotations. As the artistically inclined creatively document the movements of the masses, the populous prove that Romero’s anxiety about unrest and wariness in the 60s was spot on.

A real story about current confusion: Alutepena Hughes-John brings her uniquely talented music to help with the current UK ‘Lockdown’

The driving drums drop in so sweetly, as we are introduced to an authentic voice that breathes new life into the dull year of stale air, and dark clouds. This is all about the trauma about the ravaging bite that is 2020 and the rhythmically energy brought forth, is a pleasant listen from Alutepena Hughes-John. The Surrey, UK based performer speeds into the wild waters with the relevant ‘Lockdown‘.

Her voice is so smooth and authentic, her various styles and bands in her armor mesh with much enthusiasm here, this is a performer with so much to offer our sad hearts. The frustration of how the UK lockdown has been handled is so apparent, the confusion and poor management is described vividly, the shocking levels of sadness of the people is for all to see. The end is not in sight, and seeing other countries open up again, gives even more ammo to the weary-eyes souls of the once-proud nation.

With a vibrant energy that shines through the gloomy skies, the new single makes you smile as stories of sacrifice and not knowing what is right to do, and what is not. The vocals swim through the rock-filled waves with aplomb, her words are so hauntingly honest, and will make you feel better about things as you aren’t alone.

With her music style changing all the time from Steampunk to Goth dependent on her mood, the wildly talented Alutepena Hughes-John shows us all that creativity is alive and strong on ‘Lockdown‘. The citizens of the UK will just have to be a bit more patient for a while until the rain has passed, for this is a time that has shown who the great leaders are, and who are the ones that need to sit down, and leave big decisions to wiser souls.

Retro-gothwave banger with ‘Nightwaves’ from Grimdeluxe

This is a new retro-gothwave banger with ‘Nightwaves‘ from Grimdeluxe as this transcends the airwaves here in 2020.

You can’t see right now as your vision is a bit blurred and you are struggling. You are trying to open your eyes but its so hard currently. The music is leading you in the right direction and it will be interesting to see if you can see the light or will everything drag you down. The night can be a scary time but you are excited for this challenge as you begin to see where to go in life.

This is a song that has an old school 80’s feel. The synths are quite electric here, the whole energy brews as the song levels up into your ears. The vocals are strong and calming, you feel at ease and just want to dance all night. This is the perfect song for a Friday night as you get into the weekend vibe.

Nightwaves‘ from Grimdeluxe is the brooding and smokey song that lifts into the speakers slowly. The burner is a track to enjoy with friends.

Faunshead – Come Wake Me Up: Ethereally Dark Experimental Indie

LA Rock duo Faunshead’s recently released single “Come Wake Me Up” is a salaciously ominous soundscape which any fans of dark Indie Rock will want on their playlists.

If you could imagine what Marilyn Manson would sound like if he adopted a fuzzy, grungy, melodic Indie approach to his music, you’d get a good idea of Faunshead’s nuanced distinctive style.

With Come Wake Me Up, the US artist created a sublime feat of Alt Rock through the use of cavernous drum rolls, growling ethereal vocals and inventive blasts of synth. But around the experimentalism, they weaved in a massive chorus which is extremely efficacious in snaring you into a feat of rhythmic euphoria. Faunshead’s sound feels like it has already has a home on Mike Patton’s Ipecac record label.

Vlad In Tears – Great Goth Almighty!

Even before you read anything about the wonderfully titled Vlad In Tears you could have a decent stab at the fact that they hail from Europe, German even and you might even be confident enough to suggest Berlin. And you would be right. There is something in their sound which seems to scream “Old World” and those dark corners which sit perpetually across some of its oldest cities.

If the bands name seem to suggest something aimed at the black clad, wannabe pagans who still have visions of relocating to Sunnydale and hanging around with Buffy and the gang, I am most happy to report that Vlad In Tears rise far above such first impressions. Give the music a spin and you find yourself in a dark and emotive alt-rock soundscape. Even the term gothic, as a genre at least, is slightly amiss here, for it neither fits in with the old-school post-punk movement or the metal sub-genre it has since become. If it is gothic at all it is more in the literary sense, painting dark mystique, broken romanticism and haunted emotions across its musical canvas.

Plastic: Another Monster Hit From The English Duo Black Fun Surgery

If you want to get the feel of what good music sounds like, then Black Fun Surgery’s latest hit- Plastic is the music to listen to. What can I say? This track is simply off the hook. For music lovers who love a combination of hard rock and electronica, you wouldn’t go wrong to listen to this fine tune that is currently rocking the airwaves. Yes, there are good music but “Plastic” by Black Fun Surgery beats them all.

Although this amazing electro Goth duo have stayed away from the music scene for quite some years now. They make a resounding comeback with this tune that promises to give music lovers that tingling feeling they wouldn’t want to recover from.

If you think the lyrics to this incredible song was lit, wait till you listen to the crazy beat that accompanies this fine music. You will simply be left breathless by the magical production that went into this track. Yes, the group black fun surgery is an indie group looking for the breakthrough to the big stages, but with this monster hit- Plastic, they have simply made a statement that they are ready for the top.

While their single Spectralia has success in 2016, Plastic promises to surpass their previous milestone. And with many radio stations currently airing this scintillating track, it wouldn’t be long before Plastic start topping popular charts. If you love energy in a music, then this is the one for you. The energy in this music is on a whole new level.

According to the duo, Plastic is a song inspired by a fake world where they feel the desire to celebrate their uniqueness through music. The lyrics of this hit track is a testament to the message they want to send out there. While Electro Goth is a very popular genre in Germany, Black Fun Surgery have owned this genre and taking things up a notch with their latest track “Plastic.” Are you having a bad day and looking for a track to burst the adrenaline in you? Instead of sliding in some boring old track, why not revel in the euphoria of Plastic? Without mincing words, Plastic is the ultimate mood changer. Slide in this tune and thank me later.

Like I said earlier, this music is currently enjoying massive airplay. This explains why it has earned its place as number 7 on the ReverbNation UK’s electronica chart.
