If breaking Alt RnB artist Prejon has evaded your radar up until now, it’s definitely time to find out what the hype surrounding his genre-mashing sound is all about. Their standout single “Take Off” serves as the perfect introduction to their smooth, constraint-crumbling urban style

Within the sweet and steady mix, you’ll find nuanced elements of Hip Hop, Pop, Reggae and Neo-Soul. Despite Prejon’s tendency to create fresh new urban soundscapes, he has kept the groove in Take Off accessibly arrestive. Take Off may venture far from what you would expect from an archetypal RnB track, but one thing which Prejon did keep traditional was the romantically-rendered soul which is poured into the vibing mix.

Folarin and Keziah – Relentless: Soulfully-Inspiring Christian and Gospel

Folarin & Keziah’s Christian & Gospel album “Relentless” provides an ethereally sweet array of soundscapes which may vary in genre and tone. Yet, one thing which remains a constant is the inspiring soul poured into each of the singles.

The album’s title track invites you to immerse yourself within a serene offering of smooth RnB complete with soaring blues guitar progressions and Folarin & Keziah’s nuancedly celestial vocals leading a choir. The extended single lays out comfortingly contemplative lyrics which were penned poignantly enough to provide aural salvation to everyone – whether you’re pious or not.

Terrence turk Robinson – Hold On: Soulfully Composed R&B Trap

Christian & Gospel singer-songwriter Terrence turk Robinson has recently released their second single “Hold On (To His Word)”. And it’s safe to say that I’ve never a heard a more soulful contemporary R&B-laced Trap track.

Whatever your religious leanings, Terrence turk Robinson’s soulful magnetism won’t fail to resonate when you hit play on their good vibe hits which have been orchestrated to strengthen faith. Nick Cave once said that atheists could never make good songwriters, after listening to Hold On, I may just be inclined to agree with him.

Sure, the harmonic vocals are pleasing, and the beats contain plenty of lush hooks, but the intrinsically enamouring soulful sentiment in Hold On is what really allows this track to hit hard.

A&R Factory Present: Aaron Taylor

Earlier this year, London-based singer-songwriter Aaron Taylor quietly and somewhat mysteriously, without too much fanfare, released his debut EP Still Life. The three songs contained on the EP caught the attention of a host of music bloggers, and one song, ” Lesson Learnt “, appeared on a major TV ad for Apple Watch.

Aaron has since been working on new material, and “Be Alright” is the first song to be taken from a brand-new EP titled Better Days, due for release this autumn.

On “Be Alright” Aaron develops further the intoxicating fusion of soul, funk, gospel and R&B he revealed on his debut. He wrote the song as a statement of support, “Sometimes you need to encourage and remind yourself things will be OK” he says. “’Be Alright’ is exactly that: an encouragement to ourselves and a reminder of a simple truth that we will all be fine in time. We may need to rebel, we may need to struggle, but we’ll be good.”

The song forms part of a wider story behind the full EP – more details to be revealed in due course.
