Edward Knocks dances away the past on ‘My Energy’

Edward Knocks smashes through all doubt with the new single ‘My Energy‘.

Boastful, insecure and sincere all at the same time, ‘My Energy‘ is the new track to come from his new persona of Edward Knocks. Lock-down in this wild world has forced Edward Knocks to put shallow and self serving projects on hold and instead gave him time to sit down with his favorite synthesizers, resulting in confident and bubbly ‘My Energy’.

Describing an interview with LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy on failure as a turning point for the creation of this song, Edward faces down his insecurities in this bold new release. He sounds like he has been waiting for this moment to put his own personal stamp down on 2020.

Edward Knocks is a new persona for the artist who was previously signed to a label under a different name. Since leaving his record deal due to creative inertia and the feeling of being pushed into the wrong creative direction, he has found himself to be bursting at the seams with new creative ideas. He is relishing the new creative control he exerts over his own projects now and you can see the energy.

My Energy‘ from the new and improved Edward Knocks. I love how there is lots of dancing here, the bouncy energy is timeless and this artist looks happy. Finally free and now 100% in charge of creative control, this is a statement. Things are going to be different now.

Cardiff’s Sarah Brown changes direction on breathless ‘Liability’

Pop-Soul singer-songwriter from Cardiff in Wales, Sarah Brown, is back with another self-aware track with lots of powerful vocals called ‘Liability‘.

You feel like you always do what you believe but some people try and bring you down. You are in the mood of going on your own journey and you feel its your time. Small-minded people try and knock you down but you are just going to dust off any doubt and do you think. I love this mentality and it feels like Sarah has the right vibe right now to succeed.

The Cardiff-based singer has such a sultry voice as she breathlessly shines here and hits some supremely high notes that impresses the speakers. ‘Liability‘ is a bouncy song that is her way of showing what she is made of. The future is so bright for the artist that can do so many different styles that shows her emergence on the UK music scene.

Bomethius sings sweet melodies to share his wedding story on ‘Goodbye, Covid-19’

Goodbye, Covid-19 by Bomethius

Goodbye, Covid-19‘ is a beautiful story from the soft but striking vocals of the extremely talented Bomethius.

Bomethius is the alter-ego recording alias of Jonathan Hodges who is a Dallas based-musician. An accomplished violinist, Hodges started studying music at age 3. Addressing doubts, fears, and disappointments from his own personal experience, Hodges recorded the first two Bomethius albums alone in his bathroom and quickly developed a unique baroque pop sound informed by melancholy, and wit. This is an artist that loves to challenge himself and make striking, real music.

Goodbye, Covid-19‘ chronicles Jonathan’s experience with getting married in the midst of a pandemic. It’s not really something he would recommend, but despite the fact that, him and his wife were deprived of their original venue, the majority of their close friends, and some of their family too. They found it to be surprisingly beautiful and while the world appears to be a long way off from actually saying goodbye to this virus, the song is about how good it will feel whenever we do finally get to say goodbye to Covid-19, and hello to one another — in person.

With breezy vocals and a soft piano that adds such a relaxing energy to this fine song ‘Goodbye, Covid-19‘ from Bomethius. This is one of the better songs on 2020 from such a genuine musician who shows us how crazy life has been lately.

Alexander Joseph – Invincible: Hearteningly Essential Indie Pop

Alexander Joseph

From the first few dreamy notes in Alexander Joseph’s latest Indie single “Invincible”, we were hooked. The sincerity of the soul, the impact of the heartening lyrics and the ingenuity which lies within the modernistic Electronic Indie Rock soundscape ensures that Invincible unravels as a rapturously resonant single.

Alexander Joseph has a different approach to songwriting to most artists. It’s the same approach he uses as a Paralympic and Olympic sports coach. He uplifts and offers support for anyone brave enough to persevere through adversity.

People often talk about needing to be able to separate the art from the artist when arguing about cancel culture, but Alexander Joseph’s single proves just how impossible that is. His inspiring charisma shines right through Invincible.

Invincible is the 5th track on Alexander Joseph’s EP “Broken But Beautiful” which is due for release on September 4th. You’ll be able to check it out for yourselves from the date of release via SoundCloud.

The Beautiful Swedes break in with their punchy new track called ‘Nothing Matters’.

The Beautiful Swedes is a retro-pop duo based in Sweden. Their music can be described as a new uplifting wind from the past with a contemporary flavor and a great belief in the future.

The duo got to know each other at the age of ten when they wrote their first song together and they have been playing music together since then. Over the years their adventures put them together with many bands and different artist-collaborations which led to extensive touring throughout Europe and the U.S. at famous venues all over the world.

The name comes from Swedish singer Albin Lee Meldau’s unofficial band name Band of Beautiful Swedes.

Nothing Matters’ is all about feeling down and that things are hopeless right now. Soon you will get over it however and find that positive light. The Beautiful Swedes impress on this effort and I love how the band flows, they are dynamite together and the catchy riffs makes me happy inside.

Wexford singer Ronan Furlong brings forth spacey visuals for ‘Hades Nebula’

Ronan Furlong is back with a brand new song that shows us fantastic visuals and is called ‘Hades Nebula’.

Ronan is an Irish singer-songwriter who writes and performs his own material. He has been writing and playing music for over 30 years and has produced a broad repertoire of highly original and well-received original music.

After learning from Wexford guitar teacher author, playwright, musician and performer Billy Roche, the music bug bit hard. Ronan subsequently received lessons from Mexican guitar virtuoso, Rodrigo y Gabriella, whom he met after one of their early performances in Dublin. This is an artist who loves to learn.

With lots of solos, this is a guitar-featured track and that is always something that is welcome is this age of electronic music. This is all about opening up your mind and looking to the beauty in the sky. Instead of slouching on the couch with our phones, we should look to the galaxy for guidance in life.
