Broken Bricks deliver a faultless slice of chartable pop with ‘Slow Down’

Stripped back yet full-on ‘Slow Down’, the new single from electronic luminaries Broken Bricks, is a perfect blend of ‘real’ instruments, programmed drums and sequenced melody lines, and beautiful, fragile vocals. There’s a touch of the Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs to the chorus, maybe a smattering of Friendly Fires or Bat For Lashes across the track, and an element of Little Boots to the (mostly) female vocal delivery. A charming, perfectly-formed piece of electronica, dancey without being ‘dance’ and immediate without being throwaway, with ‘Slow Down’ Broken Bricks have delivered a faultless slice of chartable pop which insinuates itself firmly into your head, sets up camp, and simply refuses to leave.

Sable_Neon captures the 2020 mood with their Alt Indie Future Pop single “Behind Bars”

Electronic artist and producer Sable_Neon has released their latest euphoria-laced single “Behind Bars”, which captures the global mood in 2020 by alluding to the scarcity of safety and security through lyrics which resound over expansive Trancey beats.

Any fans of James Bay, Gotye, The Lumineers, Avicii and Hozier will definitely want to delve into the compelling release which was orchestrated to soothe the soul while simultaneously charging you with adrenaline through entrancing Future Pop beats.

Sable_Neon may share similarities with the aforementioned artists, but there’s a magnetic sense of pioneering authority on offer in Behind Bars. Considering that each of Sable_Neon’s releases is created by transforming thought into emotion and then feeding it into music that’s produced to heal, that comes as no surprise.

Behind Bars is available to stream via Spotify.

Eliza May extends the timeline of Future Bass with her latest EDM track “I’m Coming Home”

Right from the start, Eliza May’s latest EDM Pop track “I’m Coming Home” offers dizzying rhythmic hypnotism. The sonically-crafted soundscape was crafted to offer entrancing beats along with sweetly enrapturing vocals which implore you to delve deep into the mix and drink in every ounce of honest emotion which was poured into it.

The basslines may carve some fairly caustic cuts, but in its essence, the intricately textured and layered mix is as sweet as Future Bass gets. There’s serious commercial potential behind the LA-based DJ and producer’s sound, practically celestial vocals and ability to make no compromise between danceability and sincerity.

Through betrayal breathes Electro Pop Poetry in Denae’s single “last night”

Electronica artist Denae has never been one to hold back in her tracks, yet her latest track, last night takes piercingly provocativeness to another level. You won’t just find compassion as she runs through the galvanizingly spite-fuelled verses, but you’ll get to share that lacerating feeling which often comes hand in hand with betrayal.

last night is a flood of visceral urgency and desperation to lyrically suck out the poison. The catharsis through the expression resonates right from the intro.

The track will lead you into darkness, causing you to run through any scornful moments that leave you a little less willing to trust again, to love again, all the while leaving you in adoration for Denae’s honesty and ability to convey striking emotion through her tantalising dark electro-pop track.

The ultimate Indie power couple The Civil Union has released their synthy sweet Pop Rock track “You&I”

You&I” is the synthy sweet Pop Rock earworm orchestrated by the Indie power couple The Civil Union which puts to shame all of the artificially composed love songs which consistently flood the airwaves.

When they say, “You and I are the only thing that needs to happen”, you believe it. The passion, determination and unfaltering love resonates just as much through the lush synth lines it does through the dual vocals as they coalesce under vocal reverb for a retro-futuristic effect.

The Civil Union had to triumph over adversity for the release of their debut self-titled album. The album which became so much more than a project. It turned into purpose, catharsis and the testament of the love that breathes between them.

Angelika Ates has started a fire with her new single ‘Hearts Alight’ ft Gabriel Rizza

You can almost taste tonal warmth when you hit play on EDM Pop artist Angelika Ates’ second single “Hearts Alight” featuring Gabriel Rizza.

Right from the intro, the ecstasy in the warmly anthemic steady beats starts to work its way into your bloodstream. After a sensually soulful build-up, you’re seamlessly shifted in an entrancingly rhythmic production which boasts the perfect touch of tribalism within the modern and stylistic feat of Progressive Tech House.

The structuring and the way Angelika Ates pulls Hearts Alight together makes it so much more than just vocals finding synergy with instrumental melodies. It’s all-consuming. It’s soul-serving. It’s pure transcendence.

Hearts Alight is available to stream via all major platforms through this link.

Ricky Akira transcends the notion of genres with his authentically amorous latest single

https://soundcloud.com/rickyakira/donnie-we-will-be-stars

London-based artist and producer Ricky Akira’s latest single “Donnie We Will Be Stars” proves that the concept of genres is pretty much outdated. Instead of trying to find their own sound within a pre-existing one, Ricky Akira went all-out with the authenticity in this endearingly masterful release which your soul won’t fail to recognise.

With playful polyphonic tones contorted into tranquil and cathartic rhythms, the instrumentals will make sure that you’re hooked into the progressions. While Ricky Akira and their female guest vocalist will run you through a sticky-sweet tale of romanticism and ambition.

The ‘cute factor’ may be high with this release, but Ricky Akira’s sound is anything but novelty, it’s a sure sign of amazing things to come for the charismatically magnetic artist. Watch this space.

Unite in Solitude with Icecolddiamond’s Emotionally Blistering Cold Wave Track “Shattered”

Barcelona-based Electronica artist and producer Icecolddiamond released their intensely emotive latest single “Shattered” on September 18th. We’re not crying, you are.

The darkly atmospheric release offers lush reverb for you to swim in during the intro, but once the momentum starts to build in the darkly mesmeric mix, it’s compelling enough to make you throw away any inhibitions you had when you hit play. Even if it doesn’t catch you on the dancefloor. Therein lies the true beauty of Shattered, the track was written at the start of lockdown in complete isolation while Icecolddiamon was detached from reality. Their emotion fell into the soundscape undilutedly to make Shattered the ultimate club mix when there are no clubs, just solitude. Okay, we are crying.

Rowanna Chown – Cry My Art Out: Feistily Infectious Alt Pop

If you think the title to up and coming artist Rowanna Chown’s latest single “Cry My Art Out” is ingenious, wait until you hit play on the fiercely punchy feat of Alt-Pop. Rowanna Chown makes Lady Gaga sound positively tame.

By taking influence from both 80s Madonna-style Pop and Backstreet Boys-style 90s Pop and weaving them into a danceable high-octane mix Cry My Art Out dripped with commercial potential. The radio-ready hit which dropped on July 27th is sure to see Rowanna Chown propelled from the underground. If she doesn’t have what it takes to be a household name, I don’t know who does.

Without any hint of exaggeration, Rowanna Chown exudes pure Queen energy in Cry My Art Out. You can bask in the feisty regal grace of the single by heading over to YouTube.

Reawaken Summer Nostalgia with Fading Echoes’ Latest Single “Make Me Feel”

Make Me Feel is the latest trancey drop to be released by EDM artist and producer Fading Echoes which won’t fail to invoke feelings of euphoria and reawaken the nostalgia of summers past.

It’s the perfect aural hit for anyone who has felt a little jaded. Given that it is 2020, I can imagine that will be a lot of us.

The tonally exotic single wasn’t orchestrated to be accessible and archetypal. It was constructed to leave you mesmerised by the unpredictable progressions as the soundscape flirts with a myriad of different genres. From Future Pop to Indie to Acid House to Electronic Rock, you’ll find it all within the finely crafted unforgettably distinctive mix.
