Flute

Italy’s most decorated jazz Flutist, Michele Gori, became the master of expressive syncopation once more in ‘Flute Factor’.

After becoming renowned as one of the most prominent flute players on the European jazz scene and becoming Italy’s sole jazz flute professor, the multi-award-winning Italian virtuoso, Michele Gori, unveiled one of the most definitive jazz flute collections of the era when he released his third studio album, Flute Factor.

Though we strongly recommend listening to the album in full, the expressive phrasing and improvised syncopation of the light and airy flute notes is especially striking in its cathartic flair in the standout single, Jazz Time.

With the flute notes leading the instrumental arrangement, the seminal instrumental piece carries a dreamy, almost ethereal air as Gori’s technical and rhythmic complexity softly resounds over the keys and percussive fills. Spirited and resolving in equal measure, you couldn’t ask for a more sublime sonic atmosphere to slip into.

Ensemble Voyagers took us far out and back in time with their latest medieval folk single, Ductia

If Americana is the first thing that springs to mind when you hear the word folk, the open collective of folk purveyors and traditionalists, Ensemble Voyagers, with their medieval music creations, will show you there is plenty more to the genre.

Ensemble Voyagers, led by Daniele Montagner who started the ensemble in 2017, may be a complete antithesis to Heilung in terms of the atmospheres and sonic aesthetics, but the two truly traditional outfits achieve the same end goal of evoking history through melody.

Their latest single, Ductia, strips away the past few centuries to immerse you in a vibrant flute and trombone-driven production. The effortlessly jovial quintessential folk instrumental release is the kind of soundscape our European ancestors would use to mark an occasion for celebration or tavern revelry; European folk roots rarely get as deep as this; dig in.

Bethany Eve – Silver: Angelic Flute-Driven Ethereal

People that are into J. R. R. Tolkien literature and fantasy games, people that are in love with the sound of the flute or actively seeking inner peace by wandering around in the woods and the meadows, this is your jam.

Bethany Eve comes from Wiltshire of South West England. She is a singer-songwriter and flutist. Primarily she is human being that has been blessed with a voice for which the best position that I can think of, would be the head singer in the angelic choir.

She recently released an EP comprised of three songs called “Silver”.”Silver” is also the opening track. The song just opens with Bethany unwinding her ethereal voice. This is more than singing; this is a mesmerizing, hypnotic broadcast of tenderness. The sound of the flute is the chariot of her vocal calling. To where she is off, I do not know; it might be the council of fairies or something far beyond this pedestrian world.

This is truly enchanting. It is recommended to play this after dark or even better, out in the countryside.
