Northern Irish multi-instrumentalist Michael-Jay mellows us up with classic soulful ”Stay Tuned”

This is a soothing melody of utmost beauty and a calming influence. The topic is ironic as we need to stay tuned with what is going on in 2020. We need to hold on tight and stay together during these tornado blowing times.

This is soulful jazz of the highest order. There are no vocals on Michael-Jay’s new track called ”Stay Tuned” and I am feeling the journey. I feel like this is a perfect song to chill out to on a Sunday evening with a glass of wine. So much chill with bass-filled solo’s at the end which makes the song complete in my ears.

Michael’s music production is a live blend of Tom Misch, FKJ & John Mayer. These influences mesh together tightly like a waterlily wrap of beautifully arranged blends to rescue us from this sad world.

Reborn Rockers The Provisioners smash through the speakers with ”Bottle Up”

The Provisioners are a Rock Band based out of sunny Long Island, New York in the USA. After almost splitting up in 2018, they have since made a movie-type comeback in the scene. They push hard here with their latest track and it’s a memorable effort indeed.

Bottle Up’‘ is all about holding in your true feelings until you can’t anymore. You want to speak up but keep that love inside until you are ready to explode. You want this so bad are are willing to do whatever you can to make this work. This is surely true love.

I love the vocals on this song especially and the sound is old school 70’s rock. This is a vibrant band with a lot to offer us and would be amazing live I’m sure. This is a great indie rock song with plenty of heart and passion. The Provisioners are a must-see when gigs are back on again and I hope they stick around for many more years to come.

PANDDA & Young Drumma join forces for Hip Hop and R&B laced ”Emotions”

PANDDA was born in Fayetteville, Georgia. He now calls his Orlando his home. and has moved up to near the top of the Hip Hop ranks. I like how he wants to take out the materialism in the music game and this effort must be appreciated.

The song is well-produced and I like the feature from Young Drumma as he spits truth bombs on this one that deserves our eyes and ears. This lyrical ability from PANDDA is very easy to see and he rhymes about real like stories. Life is emotional so we need to keep out cool when the pressure is at it’s highest.

Emotions” is a tight track and these two make a good team. This could be the call for a new sound in the world as we move past what was old and slide in the new future music stars. A new dawn is here.

Folk infused beauty with ”Shadow & Form” from Burke & Krowe

Burke & Krowe are a New York based rock band that fuses jazz and folk influences to very satisfying results that tingle our fingers. They are clearly masters at what they do and the whole musical creation is quite wonderful. There is a very mellow style and everything in this song has been put together perfectly.

Shadow & Form” is all about staying consistent in life and having those who believe in us to be there. This is the only way to stay sane in life during these gloomy times. Coming to age must be on a whole new level in NYC and the feel never gets too gloomy but always honest. I feel refreshed after listening to this indie rock song.

Riley Burke, Brendan Krovatin, Nick Loud, Michael Coiro and Adam Schorr all deserve credit here as they make a tight band with their own chilled vibe that must be perfect with an intimate crowd.

Underdog Italian folk singer Ruins Barren shows us his journey with heart-filled gem ”Ruins”

There are those mysterious singer-songwriters sometimes that have real stories. All those years of playing in smokey bars and seeing the whole world has hardened you up. You are now able to part your experiences on the world.

Ruins’‘ is off their new brooding 9 track album called ”Land Of Desolation”. This is the ultimate underground folk music that is majestically formulated. The music is made with love and real experiences of the ruins of the world that is currently before our tired eyes.

The Italian artist ”Ruins” is in flawless form here as his smoke-filled voice echos lessons of life and how we must be careful not to ruin our lives. He is the storyteller disguised away with guitar close by always and he strikes through with his match of real stories. Stories have grit with a flicker. This is the type of artist we should support as without live gigs the world is a gloomy place.

Auroora flutters into our hearts with new Spanish single ”Flor Querida”

Honey Flower means Flor Querida in Spanish and this word describes the song perfectly. Sung by Claudia Aurora with Javier Moreno on guitar to ensure that this is a quality track. They have also brought in the wonderful Martin Melendez on the cinematic Cello. I must confess to having a slight crush on this sound.

There is so much beauty and elegance in this song and we are treated to some incredible vocals with a skillful guitar melody that is such a blessing to hear in these dark times. I feel at peace while listening to this stunning backdrop and my heart feels happy. This is Spanish folk at it’s most purest with a sparkling ensemble cast to make it memorable.

Utah native Connor McCoy wants to stay young with folk-dripped ”Problem Children”

Currently staying in LA, Connor McCoy is an immensely talented singer-songwriter and producer. You can hear the quality in his voice and his guitar skills make my ears listen extra. This is good music with soul.

This song from late 2019 is all about how we want to stay young and not be old and boring. Being free is the best. Who wants to old anyway?

After a classical upbringing it’s no surprise that Connor can read and sing well. Really well. While in High School in Salt Lake City, Utah he then learnt how to play the piano. With new-age piano books lying around thanks to his Mom, he could fully immerse himself into music and really learn his passion.

I love the riff on here and the song is super upbeat. This is indie-folk at it’s finest with Connor’s strong voice that reminds me of Bon Iver. With some alt rock influences you can see why this artist is rising the ranks rather quickly.

The perky percussion on this single makes my foot tap with joy. A student of Music Production & Engineering program at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Connor McCoy is a name to watch in the US folk scene. You can just feel it. The cream rises to the top, no matter what.

Malene Markussen is here with enchanting anthem ”Some Kind of Rescue”

Malene Markussen is a fantastic Norwegian singer-songwriter based in Oslo, Norway. Her music is rooted in the pop-electronic sound style and is inspired by artists such as Sia, Røyskopp and The Midnight.

This song is all about staying strong no matter what. You might seem strong on the outside but inside things could be way different. It’s so important to see more that what meets the eye and to be sensitive to this. We all need to look after each other in this world no matter what our differences. A hug and a gentle conversation always helps when someone is down. We can all rescue someone if we care enough.

Some Kind of Rescue” is a stunning song from this stupendously talented performer. She sings with her heart on her sleeve and I feel like I’m in another world while listening to her so intently. The violin in this song top everything off and she is a special talent that is going to blossom globally.

London singer Julie Hicklin sends us meaningful message on a love letter with debut ”The Power and The Glory”

https://soundcloud.com/juliehicklinmusic/the-power-and-the-glory/s-2xnKbEHgHR9

A plea to save our planet before it’s too late. “Rise up, wake up, face up, rewrite the story”. We need to take our heads out the sand and look after such a vital part of our life. The planet needs us and the time is now. With so many other distractions going on at the moment it feels like this important message has been a bit lost.

Electronic Pop artist Julie Hicklin has an enchanting voice that really pulls you into her lovely web of beautifully crafted vocals. ”The Power and The Glory” describes Julie to perfection. This Londoner sings her heart out and the message is to save the planet and we need to look after her badly. I love the message and can’t wait to see her live when venues open up again in the UK. Julie sings about love and life. This debut release echoes through my speakers and this is an exciting song to play loud. This Burning Age cover Sia’s ”Elastic Heart” and make it their own

UK Alt-Electro-Rock Band This Burning Age have just covered Sia’s ”Elastic Heart” and have released a music video too. The video is dark and moody and the band have really put their signature touch on this track.

Their influences range into very different genres such as New Wave, Punk, Post-Punk, Industrial, Neue Deutsche Härte, Synth-pop, Post-Rock, Goth, Drum & Bass and Trip-hop. This is a diverse band and the originally is clear for all to see.

Covers can be up and down but I feel like the This Burning Age have done well with this song and I really enjoyed the video. They take us down a dark and memorizing road that has made this song their own. The video is excellently produced and they they capture the vision perfectly. Whilst some may find this video a bit sad, others will marvel at the creativity. The Birmingham act are going to be pushing their sound as soon as venues open up and will be a must-see live performance as they move up the ranks of the UK music scene.
