FYB Frank ft Kino ‘Why’: Experimental rap single

Rapper FYB Frank featuring Kino dropped his new single ‘’Why’’ and to go with it was a music video by Famous Motion Film and Photography.

The duo both have different vocal ranges but they intertwine well together. FYB Franks are a lot more high-pitched and energetic and Kino’s tend to be a lot lower. This is a key aspect of why this track works because it does not all sound the same, the two voices blend in well with the fast tempo and the overall Hip-hop sound.

It has this wild energy about it, that you really feel when you listen through and the vocals and instrumentals add to that to make you want to listen.

Producer Glahz releases Experimental new single ‘Senses’

Electronica, Trap, and Techno all rolled into one for this latest single by Mexico-based DJ Glahz who has just released his new track ‘’Senses’’.

From beginning to end there is always something different, it starts off with a slow tempo and within seconds it emerges into an electronic dynamic, making sure to get a full variety of unique techno sounds to intertwine into the beat.

It has this uplifting sound and there is always suspense as you listen to the eerie background noise that leads into these insane breakdowns. When it starts to become more upbeat you can hear multiple sound effects and styles that have emerged into this track, from static TV, sirens, radio alerts, to high-pitched shrieking noises.

Towards the end is when you really hear the trap elements take over, vocals flow throughout as the pitch begins to get higher and the noise begins to become distorted, then the tempo begins to lower abruptly as the track comes to an end.

Glahz has created something that shows he can make an infectious track that will make you feel good.

Marilyn Joy has released her latest quaintly striking single “Criminal Eyes”

Marilyn Joy has followed on from her 2018 album “Crystal D’Arke” with the uniquely striking Alt Pop single “Criminal Eyes”.

With the playful adventurous polyphonic tone in Criminal Eyes, there’s a palpable sense that Marilyn Joy’s overriding aim with the soundscape was to create a simple, accessible, yet authentically creative single. And she definitely succeeded by creating a track which sits between what you’d expect from David Bowie and the Post Punk pioneers Magazine. It’s all too easy to devoutly give your attention to the descriptive, poignantly penned and dramatically delivered lyrics.

It may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but we certainly appreciate the distinctive authenticity.

Marquita Brown has defied genre-constraints once more with her mesmeric single “Jezebel”

With elements of Rock, Pop, Soul, Jazz, Hip Hop and Funk all wrapped up within up and coming artist Marquita Brown’s most creatively expressive track to date, prepare to experience a soundscape you’ve never quite heard the like of before.

Usually, whenever you press play on a track, there becomes an urgency in the demand to know just what kind of soundscape you’re being eased into. With Marquita Brown’s mesmeric experimental latest single “Jezebel” that need to know falls away. Instead, you’ll offer your consciousness and rhythmic pulses over to the uniquely compelling artist to do with them what she pleases. In short, Jezebel is utterly transfixing and it’s a pleasure to lose yourself in the gentle yet dark rhythms. After the curiosity-piquing prelude, it just gets better.

Kristaps Bakis – Bullet in Her Face: Darkly Dystopian Grungy Post-Punk

“Bullet in Her Face” is the recently released darkly dystopian aural gem from up and coming Alternative artist Kristaps Bakis. It’s not every day you come across a track which simultaneously resonates as ominous and melodically cathartic. But that’s exactly what Kristaps Bakis achieved with the indulgently eerie yet tonally light track.

The artist took the Alt 90s grungy tone before reviving it with an infusion of Post Punk, and an incredibly nuanced addition of Psych to create a refreshingly distinctive track. If you could imagine what it would sound like if Supergrass, Kurt Vile, and Bauhaus collaborated on a record together, you’d get a good idea of what awaits you if you hit play on Bullet in Her Face.

NYC Alt Electronica Artist Cami-Oh Has Created an Aural Storm with Their Latest Release “OP”

If you’re as sick of the constant stream of laboriously assimilative Electronica music being produced as we are, prepare to be as delighted as we were upon hearing the fiercely artful aural storm which is Cami-Oh’s latest single “OP”.

With elements of Hip Hop and Pop weaved into the authoritatively arrestive single, not only do you get a danceable hit, but you also get to appreciate Cami-Oh’s daring experimentalism which is sure to go down well with any fans of Bjork and PJ Harvey. There’s also a hint of Peaches’ iconic unfuckwithable attitude laced into the mix. Needless to say, the NYC-based artist is now firmly fixed on our radar. We can’t wait to hear how they follow on from OP.

Parisian Psych Noise newcomers Foreigners Society have dropped their grittily despondent latest single

Any fans of gritty despondent Psychedelic noise are going to want to check out the latest self-titled release from Parisian artist Foreigners Society.

If you could imagine the music of the Phobophobes, Sonic Youth, and Joy Division all merging in a cutting yet captivatingly melodic soundscape, you might be able to get an idea of what Foreigners Society has to offer.

The single constantly fluctuates between cold harsh Post Punk and dreamy tonally warm Psych Pop, and in part, offering both at the same time. If that isn’t a feat of aural alchemy, I don’t know what is. But what I do know, is that if I ever get the chance to witness that instrumental ingenuity live in the UK, I’m taking it.

Borg – Nonstop: Ethereally Progressive Alt Pop

Borg’s standout single “Nonstop” kicks off with a prelude which wouldn’t be out of place in a Neo-Noir soundtrack before the soundscape slowly infuses more contemporary stylistic appeal.

2019 saw an explosion of moody, evocative Pop. But Borg set themselves apart with plenty of distinction thanks to cinematic polished air to their soulful sound.

Nonstop is as nuanced as it is progressive. Expect plenty of captivatingly seamless evolutions in sound as the single slowly and tentatively builds in momentum and Borg’s vocal energy picks up plenty of unflinching arrestive conviction. The choral elements in the single are quite literally chilling. And Nonstop is as ethereal as modern Pop gets.

Naked Waste – Solitaria: Dark Choral Experimental Folk

Naked Waste’s standout 2019 single “Solitaria” from the EP “Cursed Light” is jarring enough to give you the compulsion to cry from the very first vocal note.

The Melbourne, Australia-based experimental Folk artist has a perceptible ability to play with tone and textures within their music for maximum evocative effect – it’s a far cry from the two-dimensional music which you’ll commonly hear on the radio. The choral soundscape offers effervescence amongst the bleak sombreness which has been steeped into the melodies in Solitaria.

The wobbly vibrato on the vocals teams up with the bass and digital percussion to create a haunting single full of pensive emotion, which may not be poised. Instead, it’s vulnerable, raw, and definitely worth three minutes of your time.

Lautz – Dead and Gone: Jarringly Haunting Alt Indie Rock

“Dead and Gone” is just one of the jarringly evocative singles which you’ll find on the latest EP “We Remain” to be released from up and coming artist Lautz.

There’s a piercingly haunting air to each element in Dead and Gone, but it hits the hardest through the vocals. The space which lingers around the simple lines such as “She’s all that I cared for” amplifies the emotive potency to a level which you won’t be accustomed to hearing on the radio. The single doesn’t boast the smoothest polish. But raw feel to Dead and Gone actually allows you to believe that you’re listening to a soul being exposed through experimental melodies and candid lyrics.

With subtle elements of Surf Rock and Blues weaved into the Indie Rock mix you get a branch of familiarity to grasp to while the cold slightly dystopian soundscape compels you to surrender your entire consciousness.
