BISH gave Shakira’s ‘Whenever’ a trancey rework in his luminous remix

Whenever by Shakira will forever be one of the greatest hits in pop history; it has spawned countless remixes, including the trancey revival by the San Francisco producer and DJ, BISH.

The up-and-coming artist and professional baseball player for the San Francisco Giants made the most of his time away from the field during lockdown by working on his production skills, which transpired from learning the piano at a young age. It is safe to say that the time locked away in his home studio was well spent on the basis of Whenever.

Bringing the heat from his hometown, Whenever is radiant under BISH’s touch, which is highly influenced by his idol. Kygo. We can’t wait to hear where he takes his melodic brand of dance music next.

Rob Benny is ‘Still Searching’ for meaning in his percussive EDM single.

I’m not a big advocate of the adjective epic, but nothing else comes to close to encapsulating what the NYC electronica artist and producer Rob Benny conjured with his percussive EDM single, Still Searching.

With the world music overtones, there is a vital sense of spirituality in the progressive mix. Given that there is a fundamental lack of that around in 2022, Still Searching is a revitalising sensory experience, which affirms that even in the most trying times, there is still meaning and purpose out there; you just have to reach for it. Even though we are instant gratification-seeking creatures, meaning takes time to manifest. I couldn’t think of a better soundscape to drink in while we wait.

Still Searching is now available to stream on SoundCloud.

Timothy and the Apocalypse – Voice Like an Echo: Meet Your New Favourite Trip-Hop Raconteur

After racking up hundreds of thousands of streams since his 2021 debut, the fatalistically monikered experimental electronica artist, Timothy and the Apocalypse has unveiled his latest leftfield single Voice Like an Echo.

With his knack of adding soul to synthetic textures, Voice Like an Echo is yet another trippy triumph, which carries the trip-hop gravitas of Portishead and the ardent downtempo allure of Massive Attack’s most grippingly progressive productions.

If the endlessly imploring vocals finding synergy with the mellifluous glitches (yes, I know that should be a paradox, he’s THAT good) don’t move you, you can probably consider yourself emotionally paralysed. Who would have thought end times would sound so sweet?

Voice Like an Echo is now available to stream on Spotify.

Australian Electronica wizard The Time Meddler keeps it psychedelic on Letting Go

Inside a 6-minute experience that might change your day’s trajectory, The Time Meddler is rather eerily impressive on a scorching hot soundtrack to those who need to be Letting Go.

The Time Meddler aka Timothy Poulton aka Timothy and the Apocalypse is a much-respected Sydney, Australia-based electronica music producer who makes the highest quality imaginable.

Known for his diverse cinematic music that fuses fluid trip-hop, cut with influences ranging from Jazz to Drum and Bass, he is constantly working on mastering his musical craft and elevating his sound while continuing to explore new tools, sounds, and collaborating with artists.” ~ The Time Meddler

After stunning us like an electric bolt of lightning when you needed it most with On the Run, The Time Meddler returns like a hero in the night with another outstanding single. Sizzling sweetly in that barbecue sauce and marinading like a pro chef in prime form, this is a reminder that we are witnessing something rather spectacular.

Letting Go from the brilliant Australian electronica music producer The Time Meddler is a pulsating track that slows down rather suddenly, to take you into a while new time and place. Silky in nature and thrillingly stimulating to all the right places, this might be that track that reminds us all of starting fresh again after so much darkness.

Humming in class and enthralling all senses, you shall find your speakers smiling tonight before bedtime.

The anonymous electronica collective, Formanteau, detonated a bomb of colorful euphoria in their debut single, In Your Hands

In Your Hands is the debut mellifluously melodic feat of electronica from the collective, Formanteau, headed by a veteran underground music producer who has appeared in multiple film and TV credits for his compositions.

There is something incredibly reassuring about an anonymous electronica collective running in the same vein as 21st-century enigmas, such as Gorillaz and Sault. There is the immediate affirmation that the motivation behind the electro momentum is in no way egotized, and that is exactly how In Your Hand sweetly runs through.

The innocence in the reprise of “my life is only in your hands” made an unforgettable production out of the colourfully euphoric release that runs at the perfect tempo to leave you as invigorated as mellowed.

Get In Your Hands on your playlists by heading over to Spotify.

The Overseas Project shows us their world class quality on Talaash

https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=JWzbZyysnUc&list=RDAMVMJWzbZyysnUc

Taken from their new 4-track EP called Umeed, The Overseas Project is rather impressive on a special song to rejoice nostalgically with and it’s called Talaash.

The Overseas Project is an indie electronica/rock-fusion 3-piece project who is on a mission to keep things fresh and to elevate their sound into a new stratosphere.

Founded by Amitabh Sengupta and Hasib Reza, The Overseas Project shows us something rather refreshingly different to the rest of the pack. Laden with a rather warm glow that will get you feeling healed up again, there is so much to be thrilled by on this real gem. Ear-pleasing and dynamic in nature, it is hard not to tap your foot inside this rather fine effort from a tight unit.

Talaash from electronica/rock-fusion 3-piece group The Overseas Project is a memorable song for all the right reasons. Featuring a smooth vocal style that will get you admiring the excellence attached, this is a must-listen track of 2022. The production is rather delicious and with a combination of genres to get your body alive-this is a flight-filled single to play loud-that will have you soaring away from all the previous darkness.

Alt electro producer Z3LDA delivered cinematic hyper euphoria in their sophomore single, Sincerely, All Caps

The US electronic music composer and computer programmer, Z3LDA, delivered cinematically hyper euphoria with their sophomore single, Sincerely All Caps.

After a series of vocal samples that get you in the right space for the histrionic sonic suggestion, rugged post-punk bass guitars, and one hell of an astutely fraught spacey build-up, the progressive mix descends into a dizzying blend of hard techno and psytrance with a mind-bending BPM. Frenetic enough to make most dubstep sound ambient.

If any new electronic artist deserves to go viral this year, on the basis of the sheer gravitas of Sincerely, All Caps, it is Z3LDA. Love it for the escapism. Love it for the insanity. Love it for the personality, whatever you do, don’t let this stratospherically stellar release slip you by.

Sincerely, All Caps is now available to stream on SoundCloud.

Strays of the World gave dark-electro soul in his latest single, Hello

Strays of the World

Fusing the iconic guitars of Robert Smith with the signatory filthy production style of Trent Reznor, Strays of the World’s latest single, Hello is a stunningly dark convergence of alt-electronica, post-punk, and a little bit of soul-pop flavour through the Prince-esque vocals.

Once again, we definitively see that romanticism tinged with a touch of gothic inclination is a hypnotic sonic elixir, especially under the duress of Strays of the World with his affable vagabond soul. The LA-based artist easily conjured one of the most distinctive contortions of alt-electronica we’ve heard in recent years. It threw us right back to the collaboration between Bowie & Reznor while showing us the future of dark electro.

The Time Meddler – Folks Want Blood: The Tranquil Trip-Hop Enigma Returns

If you prefer your trip-hop on the more temperately exotic side, The Time Meddler’s latest orchestration, Folks Want Blood, will happily assist in your sun-bleached transcendence.

The cinematic Timothy and the Apocalypse Remix tears away from the electronica mould, before boldly roaming into avant-garde textures, kaleidoscopic tones and a sense of intrinsic soul that brings you right into the tranquil heart of the mix.

You scarcely need the producer’s bio to tell you that he’s been making beats since the 90s. It is written within the mellifluous leftfield gravitas that throws right back to that era.

The Timothy and the Apocalypse Remix of Folks Want Blood is now available to stream via Spotify. Hit play; the cathartic payoff is instantaneous.

Laptop Singers appeal to the loveless in their smooth electro-pop hit, Are You Ready for Love? Featuring Roger Arvidson

The Swedish electro-pop duo, Laptop Singers, got even more lavish with the soul in their latest single, Are You Ready for Love?, Featuring Roger Arvidson.

It easily parallels Elton John’s song with the same title for the soul it spills, but it is so much more than your average “everyone be happy summer single”. The gentle protest against cheap thrills shows compassion for the endemic of the defiantly loveless.

The sultry, smoothed electro-pop ballad taps into the modern issue of rejecting lasting affection for meaningless gratification with a classic touch while the self-produced single indoctrinates the lush electronic textures brought about by this era.

The brother duo, consisting of Lars and Per Andersson, have had 30 years of Swedish pop practice. By the time they got round to penning Are You Ready for Love and bringing it to life as a courtesy of Roger Arvidson’s timelessly soulful pop vocals, they knew exactly how to hit the ground swooning.

Are You Ready for Love? is now available to stream on Spotify.
