Strange World Music held dominion over the future of electronic pop rock with their latest single, I’m on Fire

Strange World Music blew techno-pop-rock smoke onto the airwaves with their latest endlessly progressive single, I’m on Fire. The Sussex, England-based songwriter made a mockery of the comparatively stagnant evolution of post-rock with the anthemically eclectic future-ready hit, which starts with a histrionically cinematic prelude before slamming you right into a techno-pop verse.

Along the way, around the lyricism that compels you to stoke the fires of self-empowerment and subsequently socio-political justice, the literally and metaphorically red-hot hit picks up riotous rock licks that turn up the temperature and the momentum in the liberating EDM anthem that leaves the contemporary curve safely in the rearview mirror.

Solya is deep in devilry beguile in her alt-indie single, Endlessly

It isn’t every day that we come across 16-year-old alt-indie singer-songwriters with the cinematic grace of a Parisian Chanteuse, and that’s just one of the reasons why you’ll want to immerse yourself in the filmic world orchestrated by the West Texas teen, Solya.

Her debut 3-track single, Fever Dream, is a beguilingly baroque amalgam of rock, pop and electronica; every guitar, synth and piano note was contributed by the triadically gifted virtuoso.

With lyrics that cut right to the core of disillusioned darkness and vocal lines that compel you to lean in so deeply that you’ll forget to come up for air, the standout single, Endlessly, is a tear-jerkingly stunning score that puts Solya in good stead for her aural icon. She’s half my age, but I’d still bow down to her iconic artistic vision.

Rebel Kicks takes the existential weight off with their indie pop-rock track, ‘Floating’.

There’s no better breeding ground for power pop than NYC, as proven by the latest release, ‘Floating’, by Rebel Kicks. With similarities to evocative pop-rock outfits such as The Calling and Lifehouse, the brother-fronted duo welcomes you into a familiar soundscape before setting themselves apart with their angular indie jangle-pop guitar notes and the sincerity in their optimism.

Rebel Kicks’ tour plans may have been crushed by the pandemic, but they still endeavoured to lead their listeners to a brighter perspective after recognising the dangers of internal reflection. In short, Floating is an invitation to cut through the noise and reserve energy for positivity. It’s an invitation that you don’t get much of an option in accepting thanks to the infectious positivity.

AutoPilot – Effervescently Energetic Electronica-Infused Indie Pop Rock

Indie Pop Rock artist AutoPilot’s latest single “Brain Cell” is an animated package of shimmering energy, striking expressive soul, and sticky-sweet melodies which effervesce with earworm potential.

While many artists have fallen into the trap of assimilating the 1975, the West Midlands, UK-based three-piece fronted by Andy Hopkins (ex-The Enemy) ensured that Brain Cell resonated with plenty of biting distinction. Expect euphoric synth hooks to seamlessly gel against melodic guitar progressions and vocals which were made to reverberate around stadium walls.

The rapture is infectious in Brain Cell, and those Gretsch-carved blistering riffs are the cherry on the cake in this flawless anthemic production.
