Electro Pop

UK singer-songwriter Hannyta has released her spirited folky synth-pop single, Wildflower.

UK-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Hannyta attracted a loyal fan following with her spellbindingly unique covers of singles such as Fight Song and Jar of Hearts. Her debut original single, Wildflower, proves that when she’s bringing life to products of her orchestration, even more visceral, spiritual alchemy breathes. The moody synth-pop stylings, Hannyta’s almost arcanely soulful vocals and the folkish elements create a brand-new brand of entrancing electro-pop.

Not only does Hannyta boast authenticity, but she also boasts the ability to make that authenticity infectious from the first hit. Hit play, and you will greet your new perennial pop earworm. How she has such a refined style at the age of seventeen is quite frankly beyond us. We can’t wait to hear what she has in store for her sophomore release.

Wildflower, which was officially released on October 22nd, is now available to stream on Spotify.

The Fountains of Paradise has made an interstellar indie space pop debut with Forgotten Man.

With their if-they-got-enough-exposure-they-would-probably-start-a-cult-and-it-would-be-the-best-thing-ever vibe, it is safe to say that we instantly warmed to The Fountains of Paradise through their single, Forgotten Man, which features on their debut album, Let the People.

The Yorkshire-born, Buckinghamshire-based singer-songwriter’s spacey indie bedroom pop track starts with uplifting ABBA-Esque chords before the sonic palette transitions into an avant-garde arrangement of orchestral strings pulling against the electro-pop instrumentals. Plenty of the accordance in the single comes from the singer-songwriter’s elegantly gentle vocals that tenderly relay the playfully melancholic lyrics.

Forgotten Man does little in the way of subverting reality; it becomes escapism music all the same for the way it leaves you caught up in the witty attack on nihilism and mortality redundancy. For four minutes, blackened souls will feel right at home.

You can add Forgotten Man to your playlists on Spotify, or you can check out the official music video on YouTube.

Lauren Nikohl brings the ‘Energy’ with her latest synth-pop hit

Indie pop singer-songwriter Lauren Nikohl has released her most commanding synth-pop single to date with ‘Energy‘, which carries the soul of disco and the cold cutting atmosphere of darkwave electronica. It’s an alchemic fusion of creatively contrasting tones, textures and emotions that brings exactly what it says on the tin.

The LA & Minneapolis-based artist has made waves with her introspectively deep lyrics and robust vocal timbre that will be a hit with any progressive pop fan. With a debut album in the works, there has never been a better time to find a spot on your radar for Lauren Nikohl, who has exactly what it takes to reach the same heights as Empathy Test, Mesh, and VNV Nation.

Energy officially released on September 24th; you can check it out for yourselves by heading over to SoundCloud.

Christopher George goes ‘All the Way for the Win’ in his debut single.

Christopher George

Pop artist Christopher George is set to release his optimistic floor-filler, All the Way for the Win, which carries the untainted soul of Bananarama along with elements of funk and disco to ensure that the euphoria really flows through this stridently enlivening release.

Before you even get to the chorus, you can tell that Christopher George has a soul of gold. His technical ability is one thing, his ability to appeal to human emotion in such a visceral and compelling way is quite another. His his Jazz degree and years of experience as a professional session musician allowed him to be primed and radio-ready for his solo debut. We can’t wait to hear what follows.

Check out Christopher George on his official website, Facebook and Instagram.

Petrokinetic – Rollercoaster Ride (Charli XCX / Alice Deejay Mashup Cover).

Moscow-based artist and producer Petrokinetic took some time out from creating his chaotic original mixes to mashup iconic tracks by Charli XCX and Alice DJ in his latest release, Rollercoaster Ride. Brace yourselves; it is full-blown bash of aural insanity.

The boundary-breaking maximalist’s sonic style was never cultivated to be comfortable. Instead, the artist stays true to his moniker and aims to hectically overwhelm his fans with his experimental energy. You have to hand it to him; you will find few aural experiences on the airwaves as visceral as this.

Petrokinetic’s mashup is now available to stream on SoundCloud.

Tara Perez is lost in ennui in her latest single, ‘No Feelings in the Summer’.

If you spent this summer flying solo, Tara Perez’ latest electro-pop single, No Feelings in the Summer, serves a powerful reminder that living out romantic tropes under the sun isn’t mandatory, and to expect it as a given every year is naive.

Perez soulfully demonstrates with her latest single that summer without passion feels wasted but this progression in pop narratives is a positive one for the reality it brings to the airwaves and the meaningful connections that listeners lost in ennui can make with the blissfully melancholic single.

No Feelings in the Summer is now available to stream on Spotify.

Stef Amadeus – Can’t Stop: Bitter-Sweet Dark Soul-Pop

Moody soul-pop may sound like a paradox, but that is exactly what up and coming artist Stef Amadeus served in her latest single, Can’t Stop, which blends contemporary dark electro-pop stylings with her imploringly powerful vocal timbre.

When she effortlessly stretches to the high notes, her harmonies carry the arresting appeal of Kate Bush; through the verses, she’ll treat you to a far more vocally vulnerable performance that breathes life into the all too relatable vocals. Can’t Stop is sure to resonate with anyone who finds themselves harbouring an avoidant personality through lines such as ‘you will never break my heart if I never even let you through, I can’t stop avoiding you’.

Amadeus’ talent is only matched by her emotional intellect that raised the airwaves’ collective IQ with the release of Can’t Stop.

The official music for Can’t Stop is now available to stream via YouTube.

Definitely Not Aliens – Rub Hands Together: hail our new extra-terrestrial aural overlords.

‘Rub Hands Together’ is the latest single by the eccentric aural expressionists, Definitely Not Aliens. While their human status is questionable for the way they explore human behaviour in a detachedly bemused fashion, one thing that isn’t in question is their sonic appeal.

Lyrically, Rub Hands Together is a series of witty one-liners that won’t leave you enamoured by Definitely Not Aliens’ playful way of parodying the reality that so many artists try to sugarcoat and glamorise only to leave us with unrealistic romantic expectations. Ironically, all we needed to bring us down to earth was something extra-terrestrial.

Check out the, quite frankly insane, official video to Rub Hands Together via YouTube.

So Many Dreams: Elle Moon needs help solving these ‘Big City Problems’

Taken impressively off her vividly captivating eleven-track debut album called ‘Purple Skies‘, the special Elle Moon leads us bravely into her mind on the follow-up from her previous single ‘Prodigy‘, with a true story all about her struggles and new goals she has set despite the devastating carnage around her on ‘Big City Problems‘.

Lara Mamoun aka Elle Moon, is Atlanta, Georgia-based twenty-eight years-young incredibly talented multi award-winning indie singer-songwriter, director, actor, comedian, web designer, clothing store owner and music producer, who is an ambient/electro pop and rap artist with Lebanese roots and sings in English, French and Arabic.

The song stems from her struggles with depression, her failed relationship, her desires to succeed and her realization of new found dreams. Her failures have equipped with her a burning passion to strive for and achieve greatness. This song is meant to inspire listeners to overcome any obstacle holding them back.” ~ Elle Moon

With a fighter-mentality, she ponders if her problems are actually massive like a mountain, or just silly and actually easy to solve. She possesses a clearly toned vocal ability that is awash with sumptuously designed promise – as she airs out her issues so that she may be free from the distrust from her lovers seedy ways – and her own lofty ambitions to achieve all of those obtainable goals.

‘I’m fluent in French, English, Spanish and Arabic and I have a background in Economics, Engineering and the Arts.” ~ Elle Moon

Big City Problems‘ from the Atlanta, Georgia-based multi-skilled artist Elle Moon, is an honest story about wishing she had been told how things were really going to be like in life. She sings with so much gritty determination as she wonders if she should really be alone rather than with someone who she can’t totally trust, as she tries to work out which path needs to be in her mind right now.

On a catchy beat with so much to like, this is an inspiring track for anyone who needs some help solving their own issues in this rather confusing world.

Ivon Roberts & A.M.K advocate for self-love in their summer pop anthem ‘Solo’.

Describing herself as “a hot mess in catchy song form”, Ivon Roberts is the girl-next-door pop icon we never knew we needed on our playlists. Her latest tropic electropop single, Solo, featuring A.M.K, is a summer pop anthem that doesn’t pander to the usual obsessed-in-love tropes. With Solo, she used her platform to promote self-love instead of narrating the chase of superficial love.

The infectiously euphoric release follows on from Ivon Roberts’ other pop hits that come with an infectious appeal. With her most popular single, Skinny, having racked up over 150k streams on Spotify alone, it is easy to see that she’s going to be a major part of the future pop scene. With vocals that could rival Gaga’s while carrying intimate indie appeal, she’s everything you could possibly ask for from a pop artist.

Check out Solo on Spotify.
