nasir mf. pushed the boundaries of sonic expression in his emotion-driven EDM hit, fuckin lonely

If the sub-genre emo EDM doesn’t already exist on some dark and despondent corner on the internet, the electronica producer, nasir mf. started it with his trappy trailblazer of a debut single, fuckin lonely.

After a wavy indie trap prelude, the hit blasts off with a high-fire boost of momentum that allows the track to transcend drum n bass before the candid vocals run through pioneeringly bold lyricism to shatter the stigma attached to admissions of loneliness.

To make such an honest track at any point in their career is a brave move; to choose this track to introduce himself to the world, nasir mf. is a total fucking icon. The Brooklyn-based electronica artist made his debut to carry on the legacy of the black artists before him while pushing the boundaries of sound and expression. In the process of succeeding across the board, he became an instant icon in our view.

Nothing compares to the high of hearing an artist speak the unspoken and fuckin lonely let the euphoric floodgates open. We can’t wait to hear what comes next.

fuckin lonely was officially released on December 2nd and is now available to stream on Spotify.

Starr Blazerz Has Dropped Their Infectiously High-Vibe Alt EDM Trap Quarantine Track

While we definitely didn’t expect a track written about Quarantine to be such an energising good vibe hit, we definitely appreciated the electrifying energy which Starr Blazerz’s latest Alt Pop single “Quarantine” offered.

The ingenuity isn’t just limited to the beats which will stick to your synapses like superglue. The lyrics are insanely connectable. There’s resonant wordplay such as “1, 2, 3, 4 anxiety knocking at your door” weaved into the Alt EDM Trap hit along with other poignant observations about our absurdly isolated times.

To ensure Quarantine was as high fire as possible, Starr Blazerz teamed up with Johnny Polygon who added even more fire the dynamic adrenalizing hit.

You can check out Quarantine for yourselves by heading over to Spotify where you’ll also find Starr Blazerz’s previous releases.

Fourstars has dropped their latest feat of curve-creating Trap with “Barcelona (Dreamer)”

https://soundcloud.com/fourstars/barcelona

Breaking Hip Hop artist Fourstars has recently dropped their latest feat of curve-creating Trap “Barcelona (Dreamer). In the process of doing so, they broke the Trap mould and deservedly garnered plenty of hype around the release.

Not only did they create a sweet vibing accessible mix with the help of producer OFEY, but there’s also plenty of lyrical playfulness making it all too easy to warm to Fourstars. After lyrically reeling off a list of reasons to envy them, they roguishly point out that you’re wrapped up in a narrative of a fantasy. In a world of Trap artists either trying to make you envy them or respect them, it’s incredibly refreshing to hear an artist play on that stereotype.

With their sweet instrumental hooks alongside inventive lyrical waxing, there’s plenty of commercial potential behind their sound. You won’t regret pressing play.

Gangster Rap Meets Dark EDM Trap in Spark I aM’s Standout Single “Eurostep”

Spark I aM’s standout Rap track Eurostep finds the perfect balance between Gangster Hip Hop and Dark EDM Trap. Naturally, the versatility of the track amplifies the commercial potential. Yet, Eurostep, like all of Spark I aM’s tracks are all about the message and resonance.

The Harlem-based up and coming artist infuses the same passion he exudes for mentorship and community youth projects into his music to create inspiringly relatable mixes. All the talent in the world could never replace what artists like Spark I aM bring to the airwaves. Although, in Eurostep, you’ll find plenty of that too.

Their lyrical waxing style may share reminiscences with icons such as Busta Rhymes, but Eurostep is so much more than just an ode to urban nostalgia with the fresh and atmospheric beats and adrenalizing energy.

Defragz – Cold Winter featuring Messinian: Entrancingly Caustic EDM Trap

With Rap bars which make Xzibit sound positively harmonic and driving bass-soaked beats which will give your headphones a run for their money, Defragz latest track Cold Winter featuring Messinian is an intensely arrestive unmissable feat of EDM Trap.

Despite the fiercely pulsating infusion of bass, locking into the rhythm of this harsh caustic Dubstep track is all too easy. The entrancing mix hooks you in through a melodic Hip Hop prelude before amping up the insanity in this monster of a drop. From there on out, you’re at the mercy of Defragz’s devilish ingenuity.

Cold Winter may be a fairly savage mix, but Defragz infused plenty of euphoric connectable soul, and that’s just one of the alchemic ways he offered authenticity through this deftly polished track.

You can check out Defragz’s latest single which was released on March 20th through Bass Collective Records yourselves by heading over to SoundCloud.

Forget Yourself – Fall for You: Expressively Transient EDM Trap

“Fall for You” is the short, sweet and expressively amiable single released by up and coming solo artist Forget Yourself.  The distinctively unique soundscape which he has created mixes elements of Trap, EDM and Pop into the smorgasbord of experimental sound.

The stabbing notes of the reverb-soaked synth are followed by the fuzzily dubbed kicks of the drum pads with the multi-layered mix packing in plenty transient melody which adds even more texture to the sound. As easy it is to fall into the beat, it’s even easier to fall under the enamouring allure of Forget Yourself’s vocal charisma. The careful attention he pays to the delivery including the curl which he places on end syllable at the end of each line makes the sentiment behind Fall for You hit that little bit harder.

You can check out Forget Yourself’s single Fall for You along with the rest of the EP by heading over to Spotify now.

GR3YWXLF – Breakfast Club: The Smoothest Trap You’ll Hear This Year

Breakfast Club is the latest drop by up and coming EDM Trap artist GR3YWXLF. He may take a New Wave approach with his sound, yet he keeps all the sentimentality of classically styled hip hop and packs plenty of charisma into his bars.

With a Lo Fi R&B beat the track progresses around his ingeniously constructed lyrics, the low-tempo beat may be soft, but the emotive momentum of the track hits you hard thanks to the punchlines which hit you in every verse. The Lyrics are a little nerdy, yet that just adds to the infinite appeal of Breakfast Club. The Film Breakfast Club might be the perfect hangover film, but GR3YWXLF’s latest single is the perfect track to vibe out to. Trap doesn’t get much smoother than this.

You can check out GR3YWXLF’s latest release out for yourselves by heading over to SoundCloud when it drops, but for now, you can check out the London UK-based artist’s earlier tracks.

Delvaux – Done You Wrong: Melodically Indulgent EDM Trap

The prelude in no way prepares you for what soundscapes you’re going to be immersed in in Delvaux’s single Done You Wrong. For a start, I’ve never actually heard anything that could remotely resemble the electronic masterpiece that the up and coming artist has cooked up.

What starts off as an EDM Pop track transgresses into a melodically bare Trap track, which has the smack and snare of the 808 beats along with the synth bleeding reverb into the mix. Yet, it’s with Delvaux’s vocal offering you’re blown away.

Considering the 21 year old artist mastered and produced Done You Wrong independently, I’m absolutely blown away. And it is not only with thanks to the perfect polish of the production, but also through his charismatically inviting approach to song writing. A lot of the time, electronically driven tracks can seem a little void of emotion but Done You Wrong was the perfect exception to this rule.

You can check out Delvaux’s single Done You Wrong from their latest album ‘INSIDE MY HEAD’ by heading on over to Spotify now.
