Sable_Neon captures the 2020 mood with their Alt Indie Future Pop single “Behind Bars”

Electronic artist and producer Sable_Neon has released their latest euphoria-laced single “Behind Bars”, which captures the global mood in 2020 by alluding to the scarcity of safety and security through lyrics which resound over expansive Trancey beats.

Any fans of James Bay, Gotye, The Lumineers, Avicii and Hozier will definitely want to delve into the compelling release which was orchestrated to soothe the soul while simultaneously charging you with adrenaline through entrancing Future Pop beats.

Sable_Neon may share similarities with the aforementioned artists, but there’s a magnetic sense of pioneering authority on offer in Behind Bars. Considering that each of Sable_Neon’s releases is created by transforming thought into emotion and then feeding it into music that’s produced to heal, that comes as no surprise.

Behind Bars is available to stream via Spotify.

Variety has released their mercurially playful Pop-Hip-Hop-EDM Hybrid ‘Dancing On Ice’

Variety is a performing and producing duo from Space Coast, Florida, and like their home state ‘Dancing On Ice’ is a perfect melting pot of influences and styles.

There’s a definite East-Coast hip-hop-influenced pop drive to the track, but like the Sunshine State itself there’s a definite Latin-American feel in places, with an added sprinkling of jazzy beats, and just enough ‘EDM’ to add sparkle. There’s an ‘Akon’ feel to the vocal, for sure, and enough tempo and stylistic shifts to constantly entice your attention. ‘Dancing On Ice’ waits until you think you know where it’s going before playfully mixing things up with an impish little grin. It’s mercurial, whimsical, and mischievous; that can never be a bad thing, right?

‘Dancing On Ice’ is on Spotify. Follow Variety on Instagram.

Christian Vels has made their Electro-Pop debut with ‘Summer Love’ (Feat. Alix)

Christian Vels’ debut track ‘Summer Love’ is aptly titled – a perfect summery electro-pop Balearic dance number, all speeding beats and guest vocalist Alix’s beautiful airy, high-register vocal line. Think David Guetta, Martin Solveig, or Avicii-style 126-BPM Ibiza pop, all gated snare and sequenced hook-line, held together by Alix’s ‘I’m only gonna break your heart’ chorus.

‘Summer Love’ is Vancouver-based musician/producer Vels’ first single release, after spending some time honing and tightening his engineering and production skills. On the basis of ‘Summer Love’, that time was very, very well-spent.Summer

Loni Lincoln uses her platform to wake up and console the nation with “Where Have the Heroes Gone”

Loni Lincoln’s Malaysian and British heritage both resonate within her standout single “Where Have the Heroes Gone” which breaks the monocultural mould while asking a tragically grounding question.

Atop of the rhythmic exoticism, you’ll find Loni Lincoln’s compassionately heartfelt vocals as they call out for humanity to better themselves and be the change they want to see in the world. Yes, it’s a sobering and emotionally bruising track, but the path to progress isn’t always going to be a bed of roses.

With vocals which carry reminiscence to the smoky vocal timbre of Miley Cyrus, the emotional sting behind the soundscape and the signature styling of the melancholic Pop hit, you’re going to want to give it repeat attention. More pertinently, you’re going to want to applaud the artist’s commitment to delving deep and tackling real issues in her music. I couldn’t be more in awe of her if I tried.

Mivedrix shows us her ‘Alien Soul’ with this slice of deep, dark electropop.

https://soundcloud.com/user-442666859/alien-soul/s-Dz3NA2pKXNw

Dark, brooding electropop from the effortlessly cool and rebelliously anonymous Mivedrix, ‘Alien Soul’ builds synthesisers, electronic samples, percussion, and acoustic instrumentation with Mivedrix’s multi-layered, prominent harmonised vocals to paint a glowering, ominous tale of alienation, loneliness, and the ever-present struggle to ‘fit in’.

Singer, songwriter, performer, and producer Mivedrix sells a story of the fears of self-expression in a world where the negative impact of ‘difference’ can be catastrophic, yet ‘Alien Soul’ is ultimately empowering, uplifting, and inspirational. Inspired herself by artists as diverse as Michael Jackson, The Weeknd, and classical composers such as Debussy, Mivedrix’s debut single will be released across all platforms on the 11th November.

Eliza May extends the timeline of Future Bass with her latest EDM track “I’m Coming Home”

Right from the start, Eliza May’s latest EDM Pop track “I’m Coming Home” offers dizzying rhythmic hypnotism. The sonically-crafted soundscape was crafted to offer entrancing beats along with sweetly enrapturing vocals which implore you to delve deep into the mix and drink in every ounce of honest emotion which was poured into it.

The basslines may carve some fairly caustic cuts, but in its essence, the intricately textured and layered mix is as sweet as Future Bass gets. There’s serious commercial potential behind the LA-based DJ and producer’s sound, practically celestial vocals and ability to make no compromise between danceability and sincerity.

UK Alt Pop artist Parkerxx gets dark and Avant-Garde with her latest release ‘Lights Out’

Horsham, UK-based artist Parkerxx proved with her latest single ‘Lights Out’ that she is blessed with the ability to offer a mainstream sound without ever having to compromise on the distinction you can find within it.

With her tendency to take inspiration from a myriad of sources such as fashion, art and literature, her sound boasts a transfixing Avant-Garde air. Paired with her striking vocal range, Lights Out is a commanding mix which will allow you to feel like a moth to a flame right from the first verse in this intoxicating Dark Pop track.

All artists create music for different reasons. Parkerxx’s reason to endeavour with aural expression makes investing in her sound even more worthwhile. In her own words, here’s what she had to say:

“I create music because it is impossible for me not to. It has always been an outlet for me and has allowed me to process emotions and experiences. I find the human experience fascinating and I hope that when people listen to my music they feel less alone and connect with the messages.”

Bentley Robles – Cardiac: Meet Your New Queer Pop Icon

“Cardiac” is the latest euphoria-laced track to drop from breaking Pop artist Bentley Robles who hasn’t failed to amass plenty of hype since they made their debut in 2019. When you experience the wild energy in their bold and daring pop earworms, you’ll quickly understand why.

As a fellow queer, I can’t even express how in awe of Bentley Robles I am for the unapologetic expression contained in Cardiac. He provocatively owns his sexuality and invites listeners to embrace their own while simultaneously pulling you deeper in with the sultry grooves which come with a side serving of sticky-sweet romanticism.

Many artists fail to find the balance to feed you nothing but good vibes and grooves, Bentley Robles discernibly didn’t. Straight from the intro, you’ll be hooked into the anthemically-charged production.

With their transfixingly inviting vocals and massive sound, Bentley Robles’ name belongs at the top of festival bills. Remember those? They’ll be back eventually, I’m sure, until then, the NYC underground Pop artist will continue to dominate the airwaves. He’s the Queer Pop icon we never knew we needed, move over Peaches.

Celebrate Romantic Freedom with Theofania’s sensationally raw Pop single “Heart Break Free”

From the first vocal note in Pop artist Theofania’s latest single Heart Break Free, the sincerity becomes palpable, as does the sense that you’re about to embark on an emotional rollercoaster. When the chorus hits, you definitely won’t be disappointed.

Starting off with a melancholic offering of introspection, Heart Break Free offers immediate depth and compassionately shares resonance with heartbroken. Yet, for the choruses, Theofania opted for high-vibe bass-driven energy which affirms that even if you feel like you’re drowning in apathy, the clouds will break, just like the chorus.

It’s tracks like Heart Break Free which really put into context the emotions, which if left unchecked, can ruin our self-esteem. With that in mind, Theofania’s Pop hit is worth its weight in aural gold.

Cami Bex is due to make her empoweringly salacious pop debut with “Type”

Cami Bex

Aussie Pop artist Cami Bex’s debut single Type is a melting pot of smooth grooves and empoweringly sultry lyricism which defies convention.

While some artists think that they need to be misandrists or crass to create feminist Pop hits, Cami Bex chose to utterly own her sexuality with some tongue-in-cheek attitude. And there’s even deeper lyrical context if you look past the flirty vibes. Type offers a nuanced assurance that even if you are messed up, you’re someone’s idea of perfection. If we’re all being a little honest with ourselves, we all need to hear that from time to time.

With producer Jordan Leonard on-side for her debut, Type was never going to fall flat. We’re stoked to hear what comes next.

Type is due for official release on November 6th. You can pre-save the single via this link.
