Yung Rager stayed true to his moniker in his juggernaut of a glitch wave hip hop track, Bubonic

Yung Rager’s moniker makes immediate sense when you hit play on the chaotically glitchy alt-hip hop single, Bubonic. In the stormer of a track, glitch wave, harsh electronica, and indie hip hop collide to tumultuous and galvanising effect.

It may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but Bubonic is so much more than a mash of fiery rap bars and vocals and chaotic electronic sequences. The hook-filled track reels you in from the intro and keeps you transfixed in the moody and harsh progressions. You’d be hard-pressed to find a more cathartically volatile new release in 2022. Affix Yung Rager firmly to your radar.

Bubonic is just one of the tracks that feature on Yung Ranger’s brand-new EP, Pain Prohibits Love, that will drop on January 28th, 2022. It is now available to stream on SoundCloud.

Newfaces embraces the chaos in his glitchy EDM hip hop single, I Can’t Make You Love Me

Experimentalism has always been an intrinsic part of Newfaces’ creativity. Yet, with his latest alt electro single, the LA-based artist and producer moved into Avant-Garde territory with his glitchy serving of hip hop, Neo soul and RnB pop.

With stormy and tribal textures entwined in the artful arrangement, I Can’t Make You Love Me is touched by chaos as a reflection of torrid human emotion. While the driving momentum in the gorgeously layered single never lets any of the weight in the candid lyricism sit uncomfortably. If Saul Williams collaborated with Radiohead, the sonic result wouldn’t be all too different from the absolute triumph that is I Can’t Make You Love Me. Newfaces’ sound leaves you with no uncertainty around how he managed to garner so much hype. He’s definitely one to watch.

I Can’t Make You Love Me is now available to stream on Spotify.

WDE chanzy bring the bass in their latest alt hip hop track, Getting You Bad

The two-man hip hop collective, WDE chanzy, dropped their hardest flows to date with the release of their fiery pop-tinged EDM rap track, Getting You Bad. The Serbian-born Stockholm-based brother duo has made a name for themselves in the last four years by opening up about hardship and connecting with people in the same unsteady boats.

Getting You Bad unravels as the ultimate hard hustle high vibe hip hop track with as many catchy hooks in the vocals as in the exotically Eastern instrumentals. They have exactly what it takes to define the future of European hip hop. We are stoked that WDE chanzy fell onto our radar with their humble working-class roots and filthy basslines; it’s an intoxicating mix that easily leads to a dopamine hit.

Getting You Bad is now available to stream on SoundCloud.

New York’s hip hop scene got hotter with Blvff’s latest single, Sun Showers

Since making his debut in 2018, Blvff has continued to swathe the airwaves with hip hop tracks that refuse to fall in line with the rest; his playful candour proves that the only thing he takes seriously is the quality of his charismatic tracks.

His latest single, Sun Showers, is a vibrantly experimental mash of EDM, hip hop and Afro-Beat; high vibe hip hop doesn’t get much higher than the short and sweet tropic track. Hit play, and you will find that there is still plenty of room on New York’s hip hop map for the artist, engineer and producer.

Sun Showers is now available to stream on all major platforms via this link.

Hyper Pop Hip Hop: Rufio Spenz – Adesanya

Hip Hop got a higher vibe with the release of LA-based artist Rufio Spenz’ latest energetic hyper-pop-tinged single, Adesanya, which proves that in our 21st-century, there’s no need to splinter our culture. If everyone could put their differences aside with their love of the Prodigy, they can do the same for the former punk and metal frontman who has transformed his sonic palette in line with the contemporary genre-melting times.

By fusing elements of West Coast hip hop with 90s alt-rock and dance-pop and running them through his melodic hooks, Rufio Spenz finally gave Labrinth some competition.

Adesanya is now available to stream on Spotify.

Delmarvae Naupranae weaves kaleidoscopic colour in his urban avant-garde single, Holographic.

‘Holographic’ is the sophomore release from breaking alt trap artist Delmarvae Naupranae; his trippy evocative productions have garnered plenty of hype since his debut with ‘Blue Roses’ earlier this year.

At just 1:33-minutes long, it’s a short and sweet kaleidoscopic ride through snappy 808s and reverb-drenched beats that Delmarvae Naupranae’s despondently true to voice vocals fuse into. Holographic isn’t a track that you vibe out to; it is one that you vibe into.

With his urbanely avant-garde style, Delmarvae Naupranae is notably one to watch.

Holographic is now available to stream on Spotify.

Tommy Legendz turns back time with his single, 2000’s

Acid house and hip hop converge in Tommy Legendz single, 2000’s, taken from his debut EP, From Home. With two decades between now and the era he captures in his standout track, plenty of millennials will appreciate the nostalgia hit that 2000’s comes with.

The playful polyphonic synths paired with the steady 808 snares creates a captivating platform for Legendz’ vocals that come with the same luxe style as East Coast rap icons such as Nas and Jay Z.

With the fearless experimentalism found in his debut, the artist’s moniker is incredibly likely to become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Delta Fish pushed the boundaries of hip hop even further with his latest single, ‘Dumb and Numb’.

Nashville-based hip hop artist Delta Fish keeps on proving that he’s got the hunger to ravage his way to the top with each new release; the refreshing grooves in his latest single, Dumb and Numb, is the perfect example of his pioneering appetite.

That ‘dumb and numb’ feeling you get when your MH issues start to peak is something that people scarcely talk about, let alone put in their rap bars. Delta Fish managed to create a multi-faceted release that offers all of the usual showy bravadoes along with the most candid lyrics you’re likely to hear this year in the chorus.

The 80s-style synth lines around the steady rattle of the 808s and melodic loops create a magnetic platform for Delta Fish’s bars that flirt with elements of pop and RnB.

The official music video for Dumb and Numb dropped on July 9th; you can check it out for yourselves via YouTube.
