Dreamscape

Lie awake in the illusory land of Mindless Crowd’s new wave seminal release,  ‘Dreamscape’

With their desperately anticipated LP, Wanderlust, released on 30th August, Mindless Crowd stand as innovative new-wave indie architects; if you’re always looking for new ways to explore this vain of sonic nostalgia, let Mindless Crowd be your guide with the standout single, ‘Dreamscape’.

‘Dreamscape’ may not deliver your quintessential dreamy ambient aesthetic, but who decided dreamscapes are unanimous in tonality anyway? Mindless Crowd orchestrated their own chimaera with the reverie of angular jangle pop guitars that resonate with the perpetually influential rhythms of Johnny Marr and echoes of Iggy Pop through gruff, spoken-word style vocals that strikingly juxtapose the vibrant tones of the instrumentals.

As the track evolves, the guitars transition in the middle eight, creatively adorning the track in veritable rock n’ roll stripes. The vintage-toned lead work ascends to what can only be described as guitar porn, embodying the perfect melodic narrative switch for indie fans always on the lookout for boundary-pushing new-wave indie sounds.

Emerging from Geneva, Mindless Crowd has evolved from covering rock titans like Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin to crafting their original material. Formed in 2012 by school friends and driven by a blend of nostalgia and innovation, the band—comprising Alex, Julien, Gaël, and Lucas—has grown a significant following, propelling them forward with over 150,000 listens on Spotify.

The album ‘Wanderlust’ encapsulates this growth and exploration, offering a mix of motivation, disillusionment, success, and failure, reflecting the winding journey of introspection the band describes.

Mindless Crowd’s LP, Wanderlust, is now available to stream on all major platforms, including Spotify.

frekld cloud sang a lyrical lullaby in ‘Peter Pan’ ft Jxsie Beats

frekld cloud’s latest single, Peter Pan, featuring Jxsie Beats, is a mesmerising journey through a dreamscape where the boundaries of consciousness blur. This single, a harmonious blend of ambient, videogame-inspired instrumentals and delicate pop vocals, invites listeners into a world where music and the inner trappings of a melancholy mind meld seamlessly.

At 19, frekld cloud has already shown a profound depth in his music by intertwining sound with heartfelt emotion. The lyrical lullaby is a vivid illustration of his journey, evolving from a young artist sharing his creations on YouTube and SoundCloud to an emerging voice on the global stage. His commitment to exploring mental health through music, born from a childhood where expression was a challenge, shines through in Peter Pan’s ambient, videogame-like instrumentals, which cradle the narrative of a reflective mind.

Frekld Cloud’s vocals, both soft and resonant, glide over the dreamscape, painting a picture of emotion and introspection. Kattacomb ambiently explores loss in their downtempo single ‘Now You’re Away’

https://soundcloud.com/kattacomb/now-youre-away?in=kattacomb/sets/sleepless-ep

Maryland, US-residing artist and producer Kattacomb has released his ambient EP, Sleepless, capturing the delirium of those sleep-deprived hours that seem to stretch beyond time or reason.

Now You’re Away may not use narrative lyrics or even vocals that still bear any humanistic resemblance. But with those three words in the title paired with the bright melodies, you’re drawn into a soundtrack that compassionately connects with you through the relatability of  loneliness that creeps into bed beside you when your mind refuses to sleep before daylight.

The conceptual use of birdsong around the glitchy, trip-hop minimalist instrumentals was nothing short of ingenious. At the risk of sounding hyperbolic, Now You’re Away may just be the most stunning feat of electronica since Apoptygma Berzerk’s ‘Until the End of the World’.

Now You’re Away is now available to stream via Soundcloud.

J. Anthony Gomez has made their debut with the entrancingly trippy soundscape “Hypnagogia”

Electronica artist and producer J. Anthony Gomez has made their debut with their absorbingly mesmeric soundscape “Hypnagogia

For those not in the know, Hypnagogia is the trippy part between wakefulness and sleep where you’re not quite in control of your consciousness and hallucinations can manifest.

J. Anthony Gomez paid a fitting ode to the mental state with the almost tribal explorative loops which meandered with no mind to traditional time signatures. Instead, they weaved through the ambiently multi-layered atmospheric soundscape arresting your pulses until the track succinctly fades to quiescent resolving close.

We will definitely be paying attention to future releases from J. Anthony Gomez, their ability to deftly craft hypnotic electronic textures.

You can check out J. Anthony Gomez’s single Hypnagogia for yourselves by heading over to SoundCloud. Probably wouldn’t recommend listening to the mind-altering mix while driving.

There’s no greater testament to an artist’s talent than their ability to provide cathartic escapism with their soundscapes. Which is exactly what you’ll sink into when you hit play on the transfixing debut album Mixed Emotions by up and coming Alternative artist Gixn.

Just as the album says on the tin, each track will offer a new facet of Gixn’s soul, but each of the tracks come steeped in light accordance. Ingesting lyrical resonance has never been easier.

The introduction track “Distant World” kicks off as a hazy lullaby dreamscape before Gixn’s sweet harmonic vocals start to interplay with the affably resolving instrumentals.

With the lyrics unravelling like an unfiltered stream of consciousness and the melodic beats offering a smorgasbord of ambience, you’d be hard-pressed to find a more benevolently magnetic track on the airwaves from any artist – iconic or new!
