Conor Latcham brings realism to romance with their disco-pop track, ‘Do You Think You’re in Love?’

If you’re still sore from Daft Punk’s disbanding, the sonic indie disco pop grooves in Conor Latcham’s ‘Do You Think You’re in Love?’ brings all of the funk-laden consolation you could possibly ask for.

With Luke Marc Hughes (Tom Odell, Lewis Capaldi) on drums and Barry Grint (Bowie, Prince, Beatles & Oasis) in charge of mastering, the production matched the talent exhibited in the subversively relatable track.

Given the number of love songs hitting the airwaves (probably every second at this point), it’s nice to hear an almost-lovesong. It’s passion-driven; it grooves away from the sickly sweet proclivities of pop that allow all tracks alluding to love to sound like the lyrics were written by Disney screenwriters. We can see how Latcham came about their ‘blue-collar poet’ reputation. We can also see how he is going to take the scene by storm in 2021 and beyond.

You can check out Conor Latcham’s track, released by Trident Records, via Spotify and SoundCloud.

Bluebass brings the feel-good factor with their funk-riddled track, ‘Never Give Up on Your Dreams’

Blackpool-based singer-songwriter and producer Bluebass fed the influence of his hometown into his latest feel-good track, ‘Never Give Up on Your Dreams’. Blackpool isn’t all illuminations and rabid hen parties; it also has an ever-lasting tie to the Northern Soul and Jazz Funk scene which rose from the town’s working-class roots.

With their latest release, Bluebass embraced the old school before contorting familiar grooves into catchy contemporary rhythms that would go down a storm on a dancefloor. Their upraising mix of RnB, pop, funk and soul pulls together to offer all of the aural euphoria that you could ask for.

Never Give Up on Your Dreams is now available to stream via SoundCloud.

MDMelo keeps us euphoric with their latest single ‘DON’T STOP DANCING’ featuring Francis

MDMelo served up a solid slice of funk and disco with ‘DON’T STOP DANCING’, just one of the tracks to feature in their ‘In the Moment’ EP.

By bringing in the smooth vocal timbre of Francis, the single unfolded as a convincingly heartfelt mash of RnB, Soul and Funk. Grooves don’t come much more danceable than the ones that you’ll find in this glossy euphoria dripping sanity-saver.

MDMelo’s lyrical advice is worth heeding. Imagine how much dancefloor awkwardness it will save when clubs finally open. Until then, keep the artist and producer on your radar – you owe it to your serotonin levels.

You can check out the official video which premiered on March 6th via YouTube.

Manchester’s most frenetic Indie Electro act, Velvet Shakes, is set to drop their geography-transcending galvanising track, WORLD. If any new release is going to leave you itching to hit a dancefloor, it’s this one.

Baby Jesus Paper Boy – Expensive Dance Music: A Sonically Eccentric Alt Rock Debut

By day, Chicago-based artist Baby Jesus Paper Boy is a public school music teacher, by night, he’s a multi-instrumentalist and Alt Rock alchemist.

Expensive Dance Music is their debut single which dropped in October 2020. It’s an incredible testament to their expressive, energetic style which allowed the track to resonate as playful. But that’s not to say that there isn’t plenty of maturity in the sonically arrestive debut.

It’s jangly, it’s funky, it’s practically Post Punk on ecstasy and the sax solos will leave your mind feeling like microwave soup. There’s plenty going on in the quite literally electrifying soundscape, but Baby Jesus Paper Boy pulls it all together with all too efficacious structuring, and, of course, the serious amount of soul brought to the table with their vocals.

We definitely won’t be making him do lines for this debut.

Jake George cooked up kaleidoscopically-sweet Funk in their Psych Rock single “In the Rain”

Australian singer-songwriter Jake George has cooked up a Funk-soaked psychedelic storm with their latest bass-led autumnally-apt single “In the Rain”.

Melt into the smooth sultry grooves and fall a little bit in love with Jake George’s equally as provocative vocals which project into the kaleidoscopically effect-laden soundscape.

In the Rain sweeps across the full tonal palette, giving the instrumental arrangement plenty of depth, but you won’t be able to tear your consciousness away from the warm, steady reverberation which comes in the form of a throbbing bassline.

You can check out In the Rain for yourselves by heading over to Soundcloud.

Tyler Hunt sends us the perfect disco-house dazzler with ‘Steal Our Love’

Tyler Hunt sends us the perfect disco-house dazzler with ‘Steal Our Love‘.

Tyler Hunt is a pop artist who’s first internet success on something completely unrelated to music, his Halloween channel, HTJ halloween, spawned a music career that is gaining more and more momentum as we speak. The vocals are effortless and smooth with a beat that is so splendid that you dust off your old party shoes. Those smart ones that make you slide.

This is a singer-songwriter who is making music on his laptop, putting his ideas into action. With a lot of artists awaiting the studios to open up again during this horrible pandemic, Tyler is instead ahead of the hungry pack, his focus can go on getting big festivals instead of recordings when things get back to normal.

Steal Our Love‘ from Tyler Hunt is a scrumptious mix of electro-pop pureness and this is a song to dance to. All night long.
