The Sign of Leo releases single The Global Fight

Netherlands-based band The Sign of Leo have dropped their latest piece ‘The Global Fight’, infusing that Indie Rock sound pulling sounds from the 70’s and 80’s Rock scene, to create this catchy piece.

Starting off with that powerful hum that ends abruptly, as the strings collide together on the electric guitar and the heavy tap on the drum begins to seep through. Whilst having that synthesized keyboard sound that gives it that 80’s sound.

Adding in the upbeat clash of the tambourine that plays in the distance, alongside the heavy riffs on the guitar as the instrumentals have their time to shine, going back and forth with the heavy sound to the more synthesized essence.

The vocals have that raucous tone to them, making sure that they’re loud and high-pitched so that they manage to power through the instrumentals, as the rhythm does tend to overtake the vocals in terms of pitch and pace. But everything comes together in an impressive way, it all flows and is in tune with one another. Always keeping the volume loud to give it that real Rock sound.

PUNKETRONIC RELEASE THEIR NEW POP-SAVVY BALLAD ‘DO YOU BELIEVE IN LOVE?’

‘Do You Believe In Love?’ is the latest release by Bristolean pop rock band Punketronic, a pop-savvy ballad written by multi-instrumentalist Paul Tronic who’s said to “write and record nearly everything.”

Likely inspired by the likes of David Bowie and Roxy Music, the track is a sing-along tune from the perspective of a true believer of love – of how love can set us free and how it’s eventually worth fighting for “if you believe in love like me.”

It features mellow guitar harmonies and string melodies in a perfect ballad-y combination in addition to a Beatles-like piano that very originally completes the sound.

The Skeleton Krew – Love: Jaw dropping, Eye popping Goth Rock!

If all good things come in small packages, expect to listen to this song and get one of the best surprises from a dynamic duo from Jackson, Tennessee. Hunter Cross and Cameron Briley make up the members of The Skeleton Krew and their latest offering called “Love”, is already making some serious waves on the internet.

The song starts off with sweet, intricately woven harmonies, reminiscent of Crosby, Stills and Nash or Alison Krauss, and one would be forgiven for thinking that they were about to take us on a journey down the best of a scenic Country or Soft Rock road. Instead, a few face melting guitar solos, talented drum rolls and riffs that are played deep in the pocket, and an incredible vocal performance, make for a heady mix of Punk, Rock, and Goth that is teeth clatteringly good. It’s eight short bars in the back of Buick but the rest is pedal to the metal in a Mustang all the way!

You are going to want to rewind this track a few times as the musicality and vocal dexterity is subtle but brilliant.

T.S.Obvious – It might sound Obvious but…

Space may be the final frontier, but electro-pop space love-ballads are something pretty new and the wonderfully named T.S.Obvious is boldly going where no one, except of course David Bowie, has gone before. Lost In Your Eyes is a confident slice of piano led pop detailing the age old space boy meets space girl and finds that even under the majesty of the stars he can’t quite find the words to say, “I love you!” It just goes to show that some things never change.

It’s a great piece of electro-pop, suitably alien and slightly strange but also wonderfully familiar and universally, pun intended, relatable. And whereas most music made in the electro-pop genre are more vibrant, driven and throw-away, there is something in the pace of the song which makes it feel powerful, dark and ominous and something in the lyrics which, whilst seeming to cover age old subject matter, is much more resonant, making the whole thing a mercurial and thought provoking affair.

Damask – Inner City: Pop with a Punch

Damask are an innovatively underground act from Essex, UK who have recently celebrated the release of their first single Inner City. Their sound is a concoction of Pop Rock & Funk styling, which is wonderfully produced into an enigmatic universal sound. The idea behind the sound came from band members; Duncan Haslam and Takahide George combined desire to create sweet, soulful vibes with a touch of class.

Inner City boasts the unmistakable soul jingle which introduces the track before it starts to flow with infinite possibility. I adore the darker undertones to this music, it transcends the usual cheap styling of the genre to create a dulcet sound which are resonant of bands such as The Killers, Editors and Chris Cornell.

The lyrics are as catchy as the hooks in the music, put them both together and you get an infectious melody, not too dissimilar for Daft Punk’s cult hit with Get Lucky. However the lyrics have a far Deeper Indie Rock resonance behind them thanks to the monumental vocal arrangements of the lead vocalist.

A&R Factory Present: Astronaut

With crazy, atmospheric five star reviewed live shows and a new single out, Astronaut is clearly one of the most exciting live acts on the danish music scene at the moment.

Astronaut formed in 2013 at The Royal Academy of Music in Denmark, as lead singer and otherworldly charismatic frontman Martin Zeppelin united old and new friends in an original setup. The sound quickly turned into a vintage late 70’s sound with a modern, spacious animalistic overlay. Fueled by the vision of playing the big stages with songs like the bands old heroes from the past, the band went into several years of rehearsing and playing numerous shows in Denmark. In the summer of 2015 Astronaut played some of the big danish summer festivals – with their latest gig being at SPOT Festival 2016, closing the Limbo Stage.

Astronaut started off 2016 by recording their debut-EP, co-produced and mixed by renowned danish producer Carsten Heller (Veto, Spleen United, Nephew). The first single Supernatural is, according to the band, an exploration of a mood swing of any shape or form. Of how we perpetually change our view on ourselves and the world according to our inner state.

The band are super excited about the sound on the new tracks, and are eager to show it off to the world – already picking up interest from Germany and UK.  Over the summer Astronaut will be releasing more singles and will soon be ready for the big takeoff.
