Definitely Not Aliens – Rub Hands Together: hail our new extra-terrestrial aural overlords.

‘Rub Hands Together’ is the latest single by the eccentric aural expressionists, Definitely Not Aliens. While their human status is questionable for the way they explore human behaviour in a detachedly bemused fashion, one thing that isn’t in question is their sonic appeal.

Lyrically, Rub Hands Together is a series of witty one-liners that won’t leave you enamoured by Definitely Not Aliens’ playful way of parodying the reality that so many artists try to sugarcoat and glamorise only to leave us with unrealistic romantic expectations. Ironically, all we needed to bring us down to earth was something extra-terrestrial.

ETM – Losing Feelings ft Stantina (Rude Jude Remix)

For their latest single, Losing Feelings, electronica artist ETM borrowed old-school disco soul vocals from featuring artist, Shantina, and paid ode to the freeing feeling of losing your rose-tinted glasses when you look at someone who was only significant when they were your ‘other’. After a melodic minimalist prelude, Shantina’s echoey vocals welcome you into the cleverly paced progressive pop single that will hit you with a flood of 90s acid house nostalgia.

You can check out the Rude Jude Remix of Losing Feelings via YouTube. For more info, head over to ETM’s website.

I Like When You’re Suspicious: Riley Rex is sensationally seductive on doll-filled debut single ‘Demon’

Taken off her upcoming project tentatively titled ‘Nightmare Lullabies’, newcomer Riley Rex impresses highly on the blood-soaked debut track all about how a powerfully possessed woman can take hold of men so easily through her heart-piercing eyes on ‘Demon‘.

Riley Rex is an emerging indie dance-pop singer-songwriter, artist, and future fashion icon born in San Diego, who is currently living in the music mecca of Los Angeles in California. She makes that striking music which is all about mental health, empowerment, sexuality and love in this rather odd world.

Fans of Dua Lipa, Ava Max, and Billie Eilish will enjoy her distinctive combination of stellar dance-hall melodies, honest and emotive lyricism, and electrifying visuals.” ~ Riley Rex

Her world class vocal ability is such a pleasure to witness and is superbly backed up by a busty beat which is all the temptation you need. She somehow has the rare gift of making you automatically turn up the volume and starting the video over again and again, so you can truly hear and properly see, each moment perfectly.

Demon‘ from the wildly talented Los Angeles, California dance-pop solo musician Riley Rex, shows us a knife-sized amount of a fantastic new artist who skillfully leaves your fragile heart beating rather quickly. This is a fantastic music video which is full of bloody baths, creepy dolls, stunning vocals, and unsuspecting men, who should probably stop reading the newspaper. She is a tremendous talent who clearly has the hunger to innovate beyond what was thought possible before – and be totally herself – no matter what.

This is one of the catchiest songs you will hear all year, and will give you a jolt in your curious consciousness, when you least expect it.

Tell Me You Feel It Too: Norwood wants to be truly loved on ‘Maskerade’

As he casually scrolls on his phone so that that his lonely lips may feel alive and burning hot again with that perfect love to fill up the exhausting emptiness, Norwood thoughtfully wonders if he will find the one so that he may finally stop this pointless ‘Maskerade‘.

Norwood is a vibrant and high-spirited indie electronic dance artist and vocal coach, who grew up home-schooled in Atlanta, Georgia.

After feeling so stuck inside with church and books the only thing he was told to focus on, you feel his energetic nature flowing wonderfully on his exciting music creation, as he urges his fans to break free too. Love, acceptance, and empowerment, is what life should all be about anyway.

There’s nothing I love more than looking out into a crowd and seeing faces of every color, nationality, and gender smiling back at me. I try to make the world a more equal, inclusive place in my art and in my day-to-day life, so whenever I see that ideal mirrored in an audience, it’s always a special moment for me.”  ~ Norwood

He sings with such a passionate freedom which is so vividly welcoming, and has your formally sad soul feeling so enthralled again. There is a passionate urging in his voice for the walls to fall down, as he performs with such intent and that ultimate purpose.

My goal during every performance is for people to escape for a few hours, dance like no one is watching, and feel empowered to love themselves exactly as they are and express themselves freely.” ~ Norwood

This the story of wishing that the norm may return so that you can meet someone face to face, as the social distance is so weak and tiresome for your body, which needs some real love. You call for this to happen and are manifesting this to the stars, who are hopefully listening to your urges.

Maskerade‘ from the high-octane Atlanta, Georgia indie electronic artist Norwood, is a stunning release which is totally honest and remarkably relevant in this stagnate world. He is a real bolt of lightning into the world, that needs to be admired for its inspirational boost to us all. That true partner is all we really desire, not the constant finger-tiring swiping to nothingness.

First Thing I Think Of: The Rah Band remember those loving footprints on ‘Vapour Trails’ (feat. Funmilayo)

As they wholeheartedly miss that sweet love so much but refuse to let the memory fade, The Rah Band have our pulses racing quickly on their single which recalls that love which will never leave the earth with ‘Vapour Trails(feat. Funmilayo).

The Rah Band is a legendary Richard Hewson-formed pop/dance band who first started performing together back in 1977 and were massive back in the 70’s and 80’s. They have formed a collaboration with the wonderful British singer Funmilayo, as they have a terrific energy together, which has our feet tapping all the way through.

It’s a story of celebration. It’s a metaphoric gasp of fresh beautiful air, like everyone coming out Noah’s Ark after the flood. For all the people we’ve lost during these strange times, ‘Vapour Trails’ is a celebration of their lives. It’s like the people you’ve lost who have left their footprints in the sand, it’s a celebration of them. It feels as if I wrote that song back then, as a message for today. It’s more relevant now than it could ever have been when I first wrote it. I knew that I had to refresh and release this track after the pandemic year that we’ve all endured.” ~ Funmilayo and Richard Hewson

We are taken onto the windy beach by a singer who is on top form here, her vocals are so passionate and flourishing with so much real love, as the band skillfully take us back to memory lane with a supreme effort.

Vapour Trails(feat. Funmilayo) from the old school pop/dance act The Rah Band, shows us a path which was so easy to remember. The love was so strong and always takes your mind into an amazing place, with a remarkable romance that you will never forget. It takes someone supremely caring to always remember their life, as its so easy to forget in this copy and paste world. This is an ode to the past, from true musicians who grace us with a story that is so relevant, during these very challenging times.

Emily Silver raises the temperature in her dance-pop track, ‘Feel the Flames’

Emily Silver

Independent London-based singer-songwriter Emily Silver’s latest future pop track, Feel the Flames, is enough to make Lady Gaga sound tame. The single that was co-written and produced by the Brit Award winner, Simon Ellis (Britney, Spice Girls, S Club 7), is the epitome of filthy pop.

The bass-drenched-drops motif the track with electrifying energy which Silver easily matches with her fiercely resounding vocal timbre. Emily Silver has already performed in the Royal Albert Hall and the 02 Arena, but with her vocals, there isn’t a stage she couldn’t command. There’s a magnetic amount of hunger in Feel the Flames that grips you with sharp melodic teeth and refuses to let go.

Feel the Flames is due for release on July 16th; you can check out Emily Silver on SoundCloud.

Tom Tom Park embraces authenticity in his single, ‘Adore Me’, featuring Disc Eyes.

For his latest feat of hyper disco-pop, Netherlands-based songwriter and producer Tom Tom Park teamed up with vocalist Disc Eyes to create a vibrant funk-riding hit that surpasses energetic and moves into the realms of mania – in the best possible way.

The dancey beats, dizzying synths and funky basslines are reminiscent of what you will find on Daft Punk and the Weeknd records. But Adore Me comes with an even deeper sense of soul which is where the influence from artists such as Donna Summer comes into play.

Given that Tom Tom Park has already received praise from one-half of the Scissor Sisters (Jake Shears), he scarcely needs our approval. Yet, notably, his boldly eccentric approach to disco deserves to be met with rapturous acclaim internationally; digging authenticity out of disco in 2021 is no easy feat.

Adore Me is now available to stream on Spotify.

Lucasso – Let it Go: Trippy Urban EDM

Electronica artist and producer Lucasso is continuing to garner acclaim and rack up streams with his constraint-less mixes. His refusal to acknowledge the demarcations between the electronic genres shines through in his recent dynamic release, Let it Go, which allows you to do just that.

The visceral yet ambient experimental hit incorporates elements of trippy urban EDM and pulsates through energetic grooves. By sticking to the warmer end of the tonal palette, Let It Go comes with a blissfully euphoric downbeat swagger which your summer EDM playlists will thank you for.

Let It Go is now available to stream on Soundcloud.

Techno Victim’s techno-funk hybrid, ‘Funk It’, is the ultimate EDM playlist staple.

If you like your techno on the darker side of the tonal palette, you’ll want to immerse yourselves in Techno Victim’s (AKA Christopher Rapkin) latest single Funk It. The international EDM artist and producer weaved organic funk grooves amongst the chilling bass-driven tones; despite the experimentalism, Funk It is as easy to slip into as any of Daft Punk’s iconic hits.

The textural contrast that the elements of funk bring through the choppy staccato guitar rhythms are nothing short of ingenious. They allow Funk It to unravel as an all-consuming feat of EDM in a way that is quickly becoming with synonymous with the enigmatic producer’s sound.

You can check out Funk It for yourselves by heading over to SoundCloud.
