Joe Hayes reflects on the agony and euphoria of love with their sophomore dance-pop single ‘My Mind’

London-based pop artist, Joe Hayes has followed on from their enigmatic 2020 debut with their sophomore single ‘My Mind’.

In some ways, it’s a familiar funk-fuelled perennial pop earworm. In others, it’s an eccentrically daring release that exhibits Joe Hayes’ natural born authentic talent when it comes to reflecting human emotion through hook-filled melodies and massive choruses.

My Mind is a stunning portrait of how agony and euphoria often come hand in hand with love. With palpitation-inducing breaks and energising drops, My Mind is a flawless feat of radio-ready pop that will leave any fans of Bruno Mars, Jax Jones and Charlie Puth arrested from the first verse to the last.

My Mind is now available to stream via Spotify.

Allanah Jeffreys – Alone: Ensnaring Alt-Electro-Pop

At the age of 16, Allanah Jeffreys has already graced hundreds of stages across America and performed alongside some of Canada’s most luminary artists. Her latest pop-rock single, ‘Alone’ is a minefield of ensnaring hooks, unapologetic attitude and all too relatable emotion. But you’ll find it pretty hard to feel apathetic about isolation as you listen to the galvanising feat of dance-pop run through.

Alone isn’t just a radio-ready single. It’s a platinum record-ready release that will undoubtedly disrupt the negative narratives around loneliness as we wait to emerge as social creatures once more. Alone may allude to a particular kind of absence, but after the 12 months we’ve all had, it’s safe to assume that plenty of people will find resonance in the lyrics projected by Allanah Jeffreys’ dynamically fierce vocals.

Alone is now available to stream via Spotify.

Sam Pearce has stormed the airwaves with their forcefully visceral dance pop debut, ‘On & On’

South London’s Sam Pearce stormed the airwaves with his forcefully visceral debut dance-pop single, On & On’, created in collaboration with Denmark’s acclaimed Pop producer, Fred Millar.

The energy emitted by the strong synth lines and bass kicks is phenomenal, but Sam Pearce’s vocals easily match the veracity as they verse lyrics inspired by all too relatable post-relationship anxiety. There’s potentially nothing more frustrating than being haunted by the past when your conscious mind tells you that you’re ‘over it’, On & On perfectly captures those emotions, but ultimately it proves that they can be overcome.

With debut releases, there’s usually a slight sense of tentative creative uncertainty, but the level of assured confidence in On & On lets you know that Sam Pearce is one to watch.

On & On is now available to stream via SoundCloud.

Prepare for your dance pop preconceptions to be obliterated by teenage singer-songwriter, Seb Turner-Moore’s latest entrancingly melodic single ‘Another Love’ which proves that earworms can have just as much evocative potential as classic ballads.

TRBLMKR delivered an eccentric electro-pop serenade with ‘Sweet Love’

TRBLMKR’s latest alt-electronica single ‘Sweet Love’ is exactly the kind of dance track you could make regrettable decisions to if it dropped on a dance floor. By no means is it your archetypal drop of electronica. It’s sensual, unpredictable and seriously distinguished by the coalescence of indie vibes, RnB pop-inspired vocals and futuristic beats which carry faint reminiscence to Imagine Dragons’ smooth electro-pop edge.

The Floridian collective may have only recently made their debut, but that doesn’t hinder the commercial potential which spills from this eccentrically sweet release which shows just how stylish an electro-pop serenade can be.

Sweet Love released on January 24th, it is now available to stream via YouTube.

From B to B want to take us out for some ‘Hungry Love’

Social networks in the era of Covid-lockdown have taken on a whole new meaning, especially around relationships and those fledgeling romances which kicked off before the world closed down. The lyrical refrain of ‘I want to go out’ within From B to B’s new single ‘Hungry Love’ must have been uttered by most of us at some point over the last twelve months, and if you can’t empathise with that sentiment than, frankly, we’re beyond hunger here.

Good, bouncy, American-style pop, bubblegum and beatsy, with a touch of “Marshmallow” and a little of the “junk food” taste and a side-order of hip hop, ‘Hungry Love’ is perfect, summery driving dance-pop for lazy weekends, pizza-and-coke-floats on the couch, and Netflix-and-Chill of an evening. It’s instant, it’s catchy, it hooks you in with sugar and fills you up with sunshine. What better antidote to the January Blues?

Check out ‘Hungry Love’ on Spotify now.
