The commercial potential that we first saw when Jeffrey Chan released his debut album in 2018 is steadily coming into fruition, with multiple of his singles racking up over 100,000 streams on Spotify alone, he’s well on the way to the top, especially following on from the release of his seductive dance-pop track, Call My Name.

The tropic beats tease the euphoria of fiery hedonistic nights while Jeffrey Chan laces the up-vibe dance track that utilises choppy staccato guitars around ascending synth notes with low reverberant vocal sex appeal. Jeffrey Chan could easily teach Boy George a thing or two in terms of vocal seduction.

Swedish pop artist Jasi Bella’s latest single, Your Ex, is a straight-up attack on the perpetuation of the ‘crazy ex’ stereotyping. Not only is it a warning that women can see through the wool being pulled over our eyes when you tell us why your last relationship was a disaster. It is also an emboldening track that inspires solidarity between women that suffer the same narrators that twist the story to play the victim of the ‘insanity’ they inspired.

With rates of domestic violence skyrocketing as a result of the lockdowns, we’re more conscious of the dangers of toxic relationships than ever; conversations, such as what you will hear in Your Ex, are vital to have. The vibrant pop track deserves to go viral.

Christopher Ambrose has released his Pride pop anthem, ‘To Feel Love’

NYC pop singer-songwriter Christopher Ambrose has been creating and producing for almost a decade; he’s produced tracks for the drag icon Honey Davenport (Ru Paul’s Drag Race, S.11), Robert Garcia, Jayce Vegas, and plenty more high-profile names. If you’re not previously acquainted with his energetically emboldening sound, his 2021 pride pop anthem, To Feel Love, is the perfect introduction.

If you could imagine Carly Rae Jepson, Years and Years and Ru Paul all aurally rolled into one, you will get an idea of the sticky-sweet luxurious feel that To Feel Love effortlessly exudes. KrizRok has released his summer pop taste breaker, ‘Welcome to My Show’

After a successful 2020 debut, the artist that is impossible to pigeonhole, Krizrok, has unleashed his anthemically eccentric sophomore single, Welcome to My Show. With elements of tropic dance-pop coalescing with indie vibes and reggae rhythms, the sun-kissed release reaches the pinnacle of summer pop while playfully resisting the constraints of your average pop earworm.

The German singer-songwriter and instrumentalist truly comes into his own with his boundlessly magnetic vocals that defy convention while simultaneously leaving you enamoured by the quirky soul on offer.

It is always refreshing to hear a seasoned professional session musician embracing self-expression own with their solo work, and KrizRok is certainly no exception to that rule. Notably, he has a keen sense of which aural rules are made to be broken to find the perfect balance between distinction and infectious appeal.

Penelope Pettigrew has unleashed her autobiographical bisexual dance-pop anthem, ‘Straight Until…’

Sydney-based singer-songwriter Penelope Pettigrew has released her autobiographical bisexual anthem, ‘Straight Until…’ the hazily entrancing feat of dance-pop allows the listener to explore their own identity in the presence of a voice that disrupts normative discourse and embraces queer culture.

Through seductively bold lyrics and bass-drenched synths, Penelope Pettigrew’s queer pop track carries some reminiscence to the likes of Peaches, yet, discernibly, there’s far more commercial potential to this radio-ready single. We can’t wait to see the rest of the world waking up to Pettigrew’s nuanced empowering style. Whatever subject she chooses for her lyricism, you know that she will delve deeper than most.

Dan Zimmerman kicks off Pride Month with his entrancing queer pop anthem, ‘Soldiers’

Up and coming pop artist Dan Zimmerman has given the airwaves a taste of what he brings to NYC stages with his latest single, ‘Soldiers’. Penned as an LGBTQ+ Pride Summer pop anthem, Soldiers encapsulates the beauty and energy of blossoming romance away from heteronormative stereotypes.

Zimmerman’s explorations of lust, loneliness and loss fall into urban soundscapes that capture the buzz and the alienation felt by inhabitants of NYC and metropolises across the globe. With the same spacey, moody air as Big Black Delta and vocal reminiscences to Sam Smith, Soldiers drips with commercial potential. Zimmerman is definitely one to watch.

Bryten explores retrospective regret with her progressive electro-pop single, Where Would I Be.

Since releasing her debut single, Without Me, in 2019, up and coming pop singer-songwriter, Bryten has given pop fans plenty to get excited about with her compassionate and candid releases. After the release of her latest single, Where Would I Be, there has never been a better time to jump on Bryten’s high-vibe sound that is grounded in empowerment and sincere emotion.

Where Would I Be unravels through questioning introspection, regretful for time wasted on people that made that time living hell, but emboldening through the recognition that suffering leads to strength. It’s a powerful track that starts as a postcard to 90s pop before transgressing into a bass-riding visceral feat of future pop. If you can relate to the lyrics, you’ll find resilient euphoria in every crescendo in Where Would I Be.

Terez – One of Canada’s most sought-after songwriters drops new solo single ‘This City’

Fresh off the back of her recent single release ‘Hot Mess’ comes this new track from Calgary-based singer-songwriter Terez, an early 2000’s electro-pop ballad that’s all fizzing synths and multi-faceted vocals; dance-oriented, catchy as hell, and utterly relatable, ‘This City’ was inspired by Terez’ move to Toronto, and the reminiscing feelings of missing an old lover. Nostalgic and uplifting in equal measure, there’s elements of Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga, or Victoria Monet in here; part pop-classic, part club-banger.

Terez is already a name in her home country, and rapidly becoming one of Canada’s most sought-after songwriters and creative directors; with a new EP due out later this year, on the basis of ‘This City’ it’s very easy to see why she’s already so much in demand.

Electro-pop duo Atomic Berries’ latest single, Relive the Moment, is steadily racking up the streams since its release on April 23rd; the raw-emotion-packed dance track was made for the dancefloor. But if you need a shot of euphoria ASAP, grab your headphones and experience the collective sense of nostalgia that inspired the single.

Through the build ups, breaks and everything in between, there’s an arresting intensity to Relive the Moment. It is so much more than your average lip service ‘high-vibe track; it captures the visceral nature of yearning for the past when the present leaves you disillusioned.
