Set yourself free with The Paul Clark Project’s sophomore Americana Folk LP, Sown from the Same Seed

Some say time is the greatest healer, but that empty idiom falls short of the mindful catharsis extended by artists, such as The Paul Clark Project.

The singer-songwriter’s sophomore album, Sown from the Same Seed, uses a timelessly transformative blend of folk, rock and Americana to remind us that even though there are billions of us spread across the globe, we all have the same unifying origin and intrinsic needs.

In a time where irrational tribalism splinters our society, artists and thinkers need to step up to the plate and act as the glue to bind us into peace, love and acceptance. No one could accuse Paul Clark of not pulling his mindfully resolving weight. The opening single, Consciousness, opens a can of candour, forcing into recollection our twisted reality where we shackle ourselves with anger and limitation.

Beyond the humbling textures and tones is an unreckonable intelligence; spurred by Clark’s experience as a clinical social worker and mental health advocate. For your sanity’s sake, take notes.

Sown from the Same Seed is now available to stream and purchase on all major platforms via this link.

Katie Wellenberg raised the stakes in her alt-country protest to superficial charm, ‘Gambler’

Katie Wellenberg did more than show her hand in her latest alt-country single, Gambler, which will be an instant hit with fans of the April March and Hillbilly Moon Explosion-Esque femme fatale allure.

Lyrically, Wellenberg shows us the epitome of humanity through visually striking poetry. Instrumentally, her roots-deep melodic hooks draw you further into the single, which shows how above the charade of superficial charm she is. Needless to say, we should all be at the same level as the stunningly unf*ckwithable Munich-based singer-songwriter. She well and truly came into her swampy roots rock own with Gambler; we can’t wait to hear what follows.

Gambler is now available to stream on Spotify.

Romance is a form of fatalism in The County Affair’s latest slice of Americana, Beach

Following their 2021 debut album, which was recorded at Abbey Road and sold 100,000 digital copies, the UK-residing Americana duo, The County Affair, unveiled their latest single, Beach (Summer Mix).

In their own words, Beach is about love and a car crash, some may say they’re two of the same, but there is nothing quite like the old-school crooning country melodies entwining with the lyrical fatalism in the subversively blissful single.

With the bends of the bluesy guitar notes carrying as much poise as Swan Lake, the sepia-tinged single went beyond paying ode to the roots of Americana. The duo created a romantic reminiscence of nostalgia before driving it through their cinematically choral sonic signature. It leaves no room to wonder why The County Affair has been lauded on both sides of the pond.

Beach will officially release on June 17th via X&Y Records. Hear it for yourselves here.

Ariana Molkara showed us the epitome of country-pop class in her coming of age debut single, Birdies Gotta Fly By

With all of the class and arcane beguile of a Parisian Chanteuse, the alt-country pop singer-songwriter Ariana Molkara has made a theatrical yet intimately captivating entrance with her debut single, Birdies Gotta Fly By.

Cinematic scarcely covers the luminous production, which comes complete with pianos that would leave Ben Folds weak at the knees paired with infectiously upbeat percussion and orchestral strings to amplify the bitter-sweet coming of age sentiments expressed in the profoundly flawless single.

If this is her coming of age single, Ariana Molkara has a seriously bright future ahead of her.

Birdies Gotta Fly By was officially released on June 3rd. You can hear it for yourselves by heading over to SoundCloud.

Toronto’s Jason Maxwell wanted it to last but finds that his former lover has moved on with, ‘For Now’

Released via Believe Music Canada/Flying Colours Music/Glacier Bay Entertainment and recorded in Nashville’s legendary Blackbird Studios, Jason Maxwell can see right through her eyes on the breakup fueled single about wishing for a different outcome with, ‘For Now‘.

Jason Maxwell is a Toronto, Ontario-based indie country/pop singer-songwriter who makes that emotionally-charged music to heal with.

Even though we had been broken up for a long time, I felt that things weren’t fully over between us. I loved her and still saw a future together. It was disheartening to realize that our relationship was really over and that she had moved on definitively.” ~ Jason Maxwell

Sung with a splendidly confident style that shall induce some rather resonant emotions to spill over, Jason Maxwell shows us how we need to know that something is properly over – before we can walk away for good – knowing that we tried to make things work.

The single follows Maxwell’s performance in the Netflix movie “Full Out 2: You Got This!” which also featured his single “Girls Like to Dance” on the official movie soundtrack.” ~ Jason Maxwell

For Now‘ from Toronto, Ontario-based indie country/pop singer-songwriter Jason Maxwell is a story that so many of us will probably have experienced or seen first-hand from a close friend. Steering us through the deep trauma of not having that closure needed to move on, this is the message that many need to hear. Ending the chapter properly and having that uncomfortable conversation, will truly set you free even if it doesn’t seem like it at the time.

Gintis reminds us that a bit of paint, love and hope is all we need on, ‘Buildings’

Signalling in the freshly-coated new start that has been needed to truly recover from the pain of the familiar walls that have seen a lot recently, Gintis show that true love and care that is able to transform a new path that shall help heal the scars on, ‘Buildings‘.

Gintis is a North Wales/Liverpool-based pop/country band who has faced so many horrific tragedies recently that have made their connection even tighter than before.

In early 2020, the band’s frontman Carl Roberts lost his sister Laura – wife of guitarist Jools Neale. The Covid-19 pandemic coincided with Roberts and Neale providing end of life care for Gintis’s biggest champion as she battled breast cancer. Around the same time, the brother of Gintis drummer Gaz xxx lost his life to cardio-myopathy.” ~ Gintis

With a reflective picture that is currently being painted by honest souls who have combined together to support each other when it’s needed most, Gintis are rather superb on a sterling single that shows us all the power of unity.

Signs of life came with singles Dennis, O My Little Malcontent and Four Movements – all of which gained BBC radio play and sparked excitement among the band’s loyal following of devotees. But a decade has passed without a long-player collection of their sentimental songs for sentimental people.” ~ Gintis

Buildings‘ from North Wales/Liverpool-based pop/country band Gintis is an emotional track that puts us right inside where the recuperation is taking place as we speak. With genuine vocals and striking visuals that bring you the paint-soaked work to blanket over the hurt, this is a single that shall possibly have you grabbing the tissues, as the realness is quite overpowering at times.

Music is the language that can decipher all emotions, and take us all into a better place where hope is possible.
