Derek Johnson aka D-Rock is a Palm Bay, Florida-born Christian hip-hop solo artist who now resides in Macomb, Illinois. After a tough life growing up in the devious streets where he dealt with gang life, drugs, and a stint in jail, we are introduced to a fighter that changed his life around when he found his faith in God and now works in youth ministry.

With a look up at the sky to gain forgiveness at what happened before and gritted teeth at what he wants to achieve, D-Rock is a seriously determined soul who vowed never to see those suffocating bars again and has stood by his word. Easing into the mic with a flow that is packed with intent and so much love for his leader, you sense a reinvigorated artist that is showing the world that it is indeed possible to turn the picture around if you want enough.

Legit‘ from the Macomb, Illinois-based indie Christian hip-hop artist D-Rock, is a flip-scripting track that shows his haters that he has moved onto greener pastures and isn’t ever looking back again. With his past firmly behind him, you feel that this is a statement single from an artist who has had a second chance presented to him and isn’t going to waste it.

With a firm flow and lots of stories to tell – you feel like he’s only getting started on this exciting path – that has changed his whole mindset from the dark into the ever-growing light.

IDMC Gospel Soul Choir unleashed an upraising earworm on the airwaves with their newly released single “My Joy”

Even during lockdown, IDMC Gospel Soul Choir managed to pour some much-needed soul onto the airwaves with their newly released single “My Joy” and digitally converge for the official music video which dropped on July 5th.

Whether you’re religious or not, this House-infused feat of Christian & Gospel is sure to have a euphorically uplifting effect. The energy projected into My Joy is as euphoric as it is revolving and comforting. The IDMC Gospel Soul Choir’s talent is undeniable. Prepare to have your preconceptions about Christian music shattered by up and coming artist Beanie Duhh’s Electronic hit “Open to Christ”.

Open to Christ is just one of the singles which you’ll find on the artist’s mould-breaking 2020 album “A Reflection” which provides 42-minutes of cathartic aural escapism.

Open to Christ has the perfect tone, momentum and vibe to feed you tranquil aural ecstasy. The instrumental mix never needed lyrics to convey the feel-good essence of the soundscape. Beanie Duhh’s intent when he crafted the short and sweet ambient jam is all too apparent in the deftly crafted melodies.

US Christian singer Blake Reynolds shares all our feelings with ‘’Empty’’

Blake Reynolds’ is a singer-songwriter from Grand Rapids in the USA. He has performed and or worked with artists, worship leaders, and producers such as: George Moss, Lindell Kooley, Ashes Remain, Jared Marc, Littlebird Big Sound, Beacon Light, Kaylee and Erica Tuttle just to name a few. He is a multi-talented musician playing multiple instruments and his aim is to inspire through music.

Blake has an incredible voice, sings about real issues and comes across in a genuine way. ‘’Empty’’ is about feeling lonely, a real & worrying feeling in this ever-increasingly disconnected and social distanced world. Blake is honest about his love of his faith and sings his heart out on this one.

This is a quality song and no matter what your beliefs, you can’t help but like Blake Reynolds.

Dreaming of becoming the next pop star and about to release her debut EP in 2020, up and coming artist Estella Kirk drops her first single Shelter in the Storm, written in collaboration with Kira Fontana of Kingdom Sound and produced by Josh “Igloo” Monroy.

Extremely sensitive to the latest events caused by the spread of Coronavirus, Estella has been looking for security, truth and shelter in a world of chaos where she’s found her safe spot in God. In this regard, the storm she sings about is the panic and fear that the virus has spread, but someone is always here to give us peace, to help us find shelter in the storm: the Lord Himself.

Evocative and hopeful lyrics are introduced into a mellow pop dimension with wider harmonies in the choruses as to give us the feel of a divine presence that acts in intervention.

Christian and worship R&B artist Artist Mek has released her new praise-filled single ‘Number One’ – along with a music video. 

Artist Mek shows her fans what it means to sing a song of praise in ‘Number One’. A delicately chorded piano sets up an R&B groove that feels inspired by the likes of early Destiny’s Child. Her vocal performance is equally inspiring as she powers through lyrics inspired by her faith and her own life. 

It’s a track that’s sure to inspire those who believe in the power of faith, and it’s a nicely recorded piece – even if it doesn’t hit number one, you should still check it out.
