Jack Rush Unveils End-of-Summer Anthem ‘Lovely Summer’

Swiss-based musical artist Jack Rush is back this time with a end of summer banger entitled “Lovely Summer” released on August 28th for Rattler Records. Music and lyrics were written by Jack Rush and the song was produced by Tatum Rush (son of Jack Rush).

With this latest release, Jack Rush further showcases his eclectic approach to songwriting as he veers toward a more chill pop vibe. Rush explained, “I actually wrote this song with my usual guitar groove, but I gave carte blanche to Tatum to do his magic and I fell in love with his production. Afterall, I love all kinds of music and many of my biggest influences such as Beck and Damon Alborn (Blur, Gorillaz) mash-up their styles all the time. So I’m not going to be confined to any non-existent rule that an artist has be coherent, and I prefer to just do what I enjoy, rules be damned”

Jack Rush has continued to surprise with each single release in anticipation of his debut album due for release this Fall.

The Seraphic Soulstress, Cati Landry, Struck Again with Her Sophomore Single, Riptide

Cati Landry defied the confines of material reality with the rush of euphonic etherealism in her sophomore single, Riptide, inspired by an equilibrium of the timeless music she grew up on and the rugged beauty of her coastal Canadian upbringing.

Ensuing from the ring of acoustic guitar chords which tinge the intro with 90s nostalgia, the single quickly oscillates into a diaphanous, quasi-hymnal ballad which reminisces on the most tender and mystifying-on-the-heartstrings facets of a relationship while conjuring a seraphic sense of serenity.

Landry’s crystalline vocal lines take the dreamy indie pop meets alt-country soundscape to a whole other celestial level; you can’t help but surrender to her otherworldly command when immersed in Riptide, which doesn’t stop at washing over your rhythmic senses; the single permeates the soul to implant the reverie rendered into the release.

Cati Landry set the bar high with her 2023 debut single, Mind’s Eye, but she reached nirvana with Riptide and sits alongside Beach House, Mazzy Star, and Chayr in the dream-pop pantheon.

Prior to focusing on her solo career, the Vancouver Island-born-and-raised artist lent her talents to various bands and performed in jazz clubs, bars & theatres. After studying Literature at the University, she pursued a Master’s in Songwriting at Berklee, where she wrote her debut single, which was brought to life in an LA recording room and polished by producer Neil Wogensen.

The dream-folk daytime lullaby arrived on the airwaves on July 11, distributed via Foundation Media, stream the single on Spotify now.

Yønah – she do it to me: Atmospheric Modern Chill Pop

I love it, overly love it, when I’m listening to a song that does not carry any lackluster parts that could be trimmed off. Not the all-lowercase lettering of the title track, not a single thing on the music production, even when it’s a wee bit cluttered. Everything falls in place here, forming a magnificent musical puzzle. Well done Yønah.

Yønah’s newest joint is called “she do it to me” and there’s a sample of birds chirping at its beginning and at before its end. The devil is in the details, however many times it is the beauty that also lies in the details too. This is a tune with a flawless, cluttered music production that is going to force you to add it to your Chill playlist on Spotify. And you’re not going to skip this for a really long time, take my word for it. Yønah’s singing is a bit whispery, but not Billie Eilish level of whispery. And those backing vocals during the chorus? Talking about fierce attention to detail.

In terms of numbers, “she do it to me” is crushing it on Spotify at the moment, as it should. You can listen to it here

Alt Pop Artist ALETULLE Has Released Their Latest EP “MI CRUZ”

https://soundcloud.com/aletulle/sets/mi-cruz-ep-private/s-TeCVB

Any fans of PJ Harvey and Lydia Lunch are sure to appreciate what up and coming London-based Alt Pop artist ALETULLE has orchestrated with their latest EP “MI CRUZ”.

The standout single on the EP “BOCA DENTATA” channels Art Wave mesmerism into the moody captivating soundscape which comes complete with orchestral layers, EDM Hip Hop beats, and sultrily piercing vocals.

As if that wasn’t enough the lyricism found in all of the tracks on the EP flow like metaphysical spoken word poetry. ALETULLE’s pioneering ingenuity and refusal to make her soundscapes archetypally ingestible is just one of the reasons why you should be placing this artist on your radar. Amongst a myriad of others is her arrestive, raw, and undiluted attitude which is present in all of the singles on the EP.

Bronwyn Silk – Nobody Likes You: Sensuously Emotive Chill Pop

Thankfully, Bronwyn Silk’s latest single “Nobody Likes You” wasn’t the ‘empowered’ mean girl Pop which I anticipated from the title.

Instead, the ambient chill Pop single offers an inventively emotive soundscape which is soaked with authentic soul. Many Pop artists will try to refrain from sounding human and vulnerable in their tracks, but Bronwyn Silk isn’t one to hide behind smoke and mirror melodies, instead, she lays herself bare through the deep introspective found in her lyricism.

There really is little room to wonder why Bronwyn Silk is amassing plenty of attention with her sensuously captivating approach to Pop. With over 1 million streams on her collaborative singles, it’s evident that this is just the beginning for Bronwyn Silk.

Bohifale – Stationary: Humbly Emotive Chill Pop

Stationary by bohifale

Bohifale may self-proclaim that his unique brand of Pop is disappointing, yet, just how wrong he is a clear indication of how an artist can be so blind to the ingenuity of their work. With his latest single “Stationary” straight from the intentionally bumpy start you get a taste for the organic expression which has been poured in the single. The beat progresses through an infusion Jangle Pop Indie mixed with the kicks snares and drops teased by the drum pads to set the perfect platform for Bohifale’s vocals which possess a maturity and a sentimentality which is so rare to hear in the Pop genre.

With Stationary, you get a true sense that Bohifale is intrinsically connected to the emotion of the track, and it’s not very often I get the chance to say that. Yet, that’s just one of the many reasons why the up and coming artist should be on your radar in 2019.
