KayBe releases her Pop and Soul inspired single Fall in Love

KayBe has dropped her latest single ‘I Fall in Love’ combining Pop and Soul into a truly mesmerising piece of music.

Starting off with the peaceful tune on the piano, as KayBe enters with her powerful vocals singing in a rather mellow tone as her voice gives off this calming feeling as you listen, even when she does stretch her voice to reach those high notes, which she does perfectly.

The way the piano plays alongside her vocals gives it this suspenseful and overwhelming sound as the pitch heightens and the vocals begin to reach to that higher side as the instrumentation builds up around them.

Adding in that occasional clash on drums to really build up that atmosphere as KayBe’s compelling vocals pierce through each element. Letting the slight hum of the voice lead off to a smooth and calming ending.

DK – Okay: Soulfully-Sweet Inventively-Fresh Polyphonic Pop

We can always tell when good vibes have been made the cornerstone of a single, and it’s all too evident that Urban Alt Pop artist DK made it the essence of his recently released single “Okay”.

Throughout the tonally vibrant track, you’ll hear the repetition of the mantra “I’ll be okay”, with plenty of inspiring introspection in between. By the time you get to the outro, don’t be surprised if the playfully polyphonic mix has lifted your spirits and organically offered a heavy serving of optimism. It’s impossible not to be endeared by the feat of Hip Hop, Pop, Soul, and RnB.

I have a feeling of any fans of Nintendo-style chiptune tracks will definitely want Okay on their playlists.

Zoe Wakelam – Clumsy: Conversationally Candid Ukulele-Led Bubblegum Indie Pop

Zoe Wakelam

While many Pop artists busy themselves by projecting a plasticised version of their being into their songs, up and coming singer-songwriter Zoe Wakelam has gone in the opposite direction with their refreshingly human single “Clumsy”.

Any fans of the style of Kate Nash and Lily Allen are sure to appreciate the soulful sticky-sweet offering of ukulele-led Bubblegum Pop. It’s endlessly endearing, and it stands as a testament to Zoe Wakelam’s talent when it comes to cooking up impossibly accessible melodies.

You’ll have to wait a little longer before you can check out Clumsy for yourselves. In the meantime, you can head on over to SoundCloud and listen to her previous releases.

Aprilann – Good Friends: Conversationally Immersive Bubble Gum Pop

Breaking Pop artist Aprilann dropped her latest single “Good Friends” as 2019 drew to a close and undoubtedly ensured a successful 2020 after the release of the radio-ready earworm.

Good Friends brings back the immersive conversational lyrical Pop-style and is lyrically reminiscent of artists such as Kate Nash and Lily Allen. It’s packed full of unabashed honest expression which hooks you in from the first verse. There’s also a touch of the Bubble Gum Pop style which will go down a storm with any fans of Taylor Swift.

Aprilann may be an up and coming artist, but that has no bearing on the talent in her tracks or the quality of the production. She’s definitely one to watch.

Acisse Jay – Snow Angels: Experimentally Sweet Indie Soul Pop

Acisse Jay’s standout Indie Soul Pop single “Snow Angels” may come off their debut EP titled “Experimental Phase EP, Vol. 1”. Yet that doesn’t prepare you for their refreshing disregard of archetypal structure, texture, and tone.

The first trickle of crystal clear high piano notes introduces fuzzy deep bluesy piano tones as the soundscape reveals itself to be a distinctively experimental feat of Bubblegum Pop. The intro to Snow Angels practically acts permission to perceive the soundscape without inclination to guess what comes next.

Acisse Jay utilised plenty of her soul to ensure that yours will register the quaintness of the melodies and the expressive resonance found in her unique vocals.
