Jon Davis featuring the Kenny Rogers Band – Someone Else’s Problem

In American singer-songwriter Jon Davis’ rhythmically infectious, resonantly magnetic standout single “Someone Else’s Problem” there are sentiments we can all undoubtedly relate to.

There’s potentially no better feeling than getting rid of insidiously toxic people, and the rhythmically indulgent feat of Americana Rock n Roll perfectly captures that sensation of freedom and elation along with the bitter-sweet aftertaste of lament.

The single stands as a testament to the artist’s nuanced talent in orchestrating Americana Country Rock perennial earworms which are laced with connectable emotion. It feels quite criminal that Jon Davis has spent a significant amount of his musical career in tribute bands. Their natural ability when it comes to aural expression is not easily paralleled.

Post Punk Meets Americana in Rob Howe’s Latest Single “Promised Glory”

If you could imagine an amalgamation of the atmospheric edge of the Chameleons and the anthemic appeal of Springsteen, you’d get a good idea of what is in store if you hit play on Rob Howe’s soulfully riff-driven Rock single “Promised Glory”.

The UK singer-songwriter and artist found the perfect balance between romanticism and high-octane Americana Rock energy in Promised Glory. Better yet, the distinction in the frill-free soundscape comes with no hindrance to the accessibility of the radio-ready track.

It’s safe to say you won’t hear a more infectiously rhythmic track produced this side of the 21st century if you turn on the radio today. We instantly warmed to Rob Howe, and we have no doubt that any fans of Americana Folk Rock will feel the same.

Jerry Impini has added a new raucous twist to Americana Rock with their latest single “Not Involved”

https://jerryimpini.bandcamp.com/track/not-involved-pre-order-the-jerry-impini-experience

Jerry Impini’s latest single “Not Involved” kicks off with a sonic blast of overdriven guitars which you may not be used to hearing in Americana Rock. But anyone who appreciates fresh new approaches to the genre will definitely want the Texas-based up and coming artist on their radar.

After hearing Jerry Impini’s Duelling Piano Rock track “Been Bad For Me”, we’ve learned that we can always expect attention-piquing ingenuity. Not Involved definitely didn’t disappoint. It’s animated, it’s fierce, and charisma drips from it.

Some of the guitar progressions may not be the cleanest, but the disorder in the track amplifies that raucously infectious Rock n Roll energy which will never go out of style.

Magnolia Red – Ancient River: A Glacial New Take on Americana Rock

https://soundcloud.com/user-842434723/ancient-river/s-l6GLK

Magnolia Red has created a brand-new trajectory for the timeless Americana Rock sound with their single “Ancient River”.

The Norweigan artist alchemically created a single which simultaneously exuded warmth and a hauntingly ethereal chill. The eclectic instrumental arrangement sits organ wails around guitar riffs which are so glacial they weave in elements of Post Punk.

While, for the most part, the full-bodied sound makes it hard to pinpoint where the mesmerism is pouring from, the distinctively virtuosic guitar solos take Magnolia Red’s sound to a pioneering new level. They demand repeat attention.

Blues riffs have never sounded colder or more phantasmic. In perfect contrast to the instrumentals are the inviting, nostalgically beguiling vocals which will instantly enamour any fans of Bob Dylan and Neil Young. Naturally, we’re hooked.

Tofteberg – I Wanna Wake Up: Tight As You Like Americana Blues Rock

Americana Blues Rock doesn’t come much tighter than what you’ll find in up and coming artist Tofteberg’s debut album “Line Up Behind Me”.

While each of the singles is a masterfully polished aural treat, there’s no better introduction to Tofteberg’s sound than the standout single “I Wanna Wake Up”. Whether the sex-appeal was accidental or mindfully implanted in the bass licks, it was efficaciously captivating all the same.

I Wanna Wake Up shares similarities with bands such as Queens of the Stone Age, yet, under Tofteberg’s deft talent, the soundscape has an infinitely more mellifluous smooth-flowing feel. But that’s not to say that you won’t find a handful of mind-altering guitar riffs in the mix.

Heads Up Penny – Rabbit’s Got the Gun: Electrically Eccentric Americana Rock

Whilst the emerging Indie act don’t take themselves seriously, the same can’t be said for the rhythmically harmonious Blues Rock anthems. Their latest single Rabbit’s Got the Gun has all of the low down and dirty ethereal sounds that you’d expect from an Americana track. The complexity in the guitar chord progressions would put Johnny Marr to shame whilst the vocals are gloriously gruff, filthily soulful and ethereally immersive.

There isn’t a flaw to be found in Rabbit’s Got the Gun. The North Carolina 4-piece powerhouse of talent have an undoubtedly refined sound which has minimal reminiscence to any other act on the scene to date. As you can imagine from a track name such as a Rabbit’s Got the Gun the lyrics are genius. The narrative style of the bands lyricism creates an amiable edge to their sound which almost translates to be playfully nihilistic but more importantly, the lyrics are like nothing I’ve ever heard before. Which is what every band should strive to achieve. Sure, you can write the same old love songs, but who is really listening anymore?
