Chloe Chadwick confronted short-fused ghosts in her captivatingly all-consuming alt-rock hit, Temper Gene

Cheshire’s most promising singer-songwriter, Chloe Chadwick, has stepped off her international touring circuit to strike sonic gold once more with her latest single, Temper Gene.

The impassioned pop-rock soundscape that delivers a captivatingly all-consuming indie-country twang digs deep into the phenomenon of falling head over heels for someone who will only inevitably keep you under the thumb with their short-fused psychopathic tendencies. How she managed to stay true to her brand of unadulteratedly passionate song crafting while exploring such a dark theme is a mystery that only lends itself to magnetism.

Her ability to spin such arrestive melodies around the maladies of the contemporary trappings of sociopathy transcends talent to paint Chadwick as one of the most seminal artists of our era. Just one hit of Temper Gene will leave you with the compulsion to lose yourself in her diverse back catalogue, which was created with a little help from world-class producers, including Chris Garcia and Kevin Dippold.

Temper Gene was officially released on August 11th; stream it on SoundCloud.

Malo Daniels gave indie Americana pop-rock a soul injection with ‘Waiting for Roses’

After the successful launch of his debut single, Down, Out and Up, in 2022, the singer-songwriter, Malo Daniels, proved that he was worthy of a place on listeners’ radars with the launch of his debut album, Waiting for Roses, which fuses pop, soul, rock and Americana – to swoon-worthy effect.

With a team of Nashville musicians behind him and acclaimed producer, Dallas Dudley, polishing the album, Waiting for Roses is a triumph of romanticism, sun-soaked talent and powerfully mature songwriting. The title single is as hooky as Faith by George Michael, as indulgently indie as Kurt Vile and as soulfully compelling as Prince’s sweetest serenades. With the warm over-driven guitars greeting the horn stabs and Daniels’ honeyed vocal timbre, you’d be hard-pressed finding a track that takes you higher than this unadulterated feat of romanticism and longingly panoramic expression.

Waiting for Roses is now available to stream via Spotify.

There’s no time like the present to check out Barry Locke’s acoustic folk single, ‘One of These Days’.

Folk singer-songwriter Barry Locke’s latest single, ‘One of These Days’ carries plenty of hallmarks of the quintessential acoustic folk-pop ballad while the distinction lies in his vulnerable vocals and the lifts in the sonic Americana pop-rock crescendos that make the track an evocatively powerful ride from start to finish.

One of These Days perfectly captures the instability that can often follow periods of self-reflection, the times when you look back, and you can’t recall the footsteps that led you to where you are, but you are still yearning from the life you evolved from.

The upbeat track leaves melancholy by the wayside and thrives on the determination to carry on, even if you don’t know where that energy is coming from. It’s a stunning release, sobering and uplifting in equal measure.

One of These Days officially released on May 20th; you can check it out on SoundCloud.

Rod Fritz – Stay with Me: a straight-from-the-soul indie pop rock serenade

With his catchy pop hooks, lyrics which act like sirens to the soul and the ardent air which drifts through his masterful sound, bonafide Australian singer-songwriter and alchemist of emotion, Rod Fritz, unsurprisingly hasn’t struggled to find international acclaim.

If you’re yet to be acquainted, their 2020 single ‘Stay with Me’ will make sure that it’s an introduction that you’re unlikely to forget.

Stay with Me may be sentimentally tinged with melancholy, but as you grapple with the emotions which transpire at the prospect at losing that person who you’d unequivocally fall apart without, the soundscape refuses you to feel any ounce of sadness. Instead, it captures the passion-driven determination which comes to fruition when you start to feel the gratitude for that irreplaceable human.

Any fans of Lumineers and Mumford and Sons will undoubtedly want to delve into this ardently sweet country pop rock release.

The official music video to Stay with Me is available to stream via YouTube.

Lindzey Autumn kicks up country roots in her stylistic debut single “Bad Influence”

There’s a fairly cast-iron archetype for female voices in Country, Lindzey Autumn tore it apart with her empoweringly fierce debut single “Bad Influence”.

No, she doesn’t try to play the hedonistic miscreant herself, enlightenedly, harmoniously she tears down the pretence of the people who carry themselves with a devious air, the ones who think it makes up for a lack of personality.

The contemporary styling of the roots-deep sound and the amount of convictive within it will undoubtedly see Lindzey Autumn rising up from the underground in no time at all. Get her on your radar. You won’t want to miss her debut EP which is currently in the pipeline.

Emily Lockett gives Country Pop Rock a stunning modernist twist with “Front Porch”

Emily Lockett

Throw your preconceptions out of the window before you hit play on Emily Lockett’s upcoming Country single “Front Porch”.

With a stunning modernist twist, Emily Lockett has allowed the genre to make a seismic shift in contemporary resonance. The electric guitars grace the soundscape with angularly absorbing licks to ensure that even though Front Porch is roots-deep in Old School Country Blues attitude, it drips with commercial potential.

The UK-based singer-songwriter and instrumentalist is currently studying at one of the finest institutions in the UK, I’m of course referring to BIMM Manchester. She’s already had plenty of success with her former releases after making her debut in December 2016. I can’t help but feel excited about what’s to come from the trailblazingly distinctive artist. Get her on your radar.

You’ll have to wait a little longer before you can check out Front Porch, in the meantime, you can head on over to the artist’s official website and check out their former releases.

Keep up to date with news of the forthcoming release via Facebook.
