Gixn – Distant World: Indulgently Hazy Ambient Hip Hop

https://open.spotify.com/track/2E15FZWhdofD85UCJKNTvT

There’s no greater testament to an artist’s talent than their ability to provide cathartic escapism with their soundscapes. Which is exactly what you’ll sink into when you hit play on the transfixing debut album Mixed Emotions by up and coming Alternative artist Gixn.

Just as the album says on the tin, each track will offer a new facet of Gixn’s soul, but each of the tracks come steeped in light accordance. Ingesting lyrical resonance has never been easier.

The introduction track “Distant World” kicks off as a hazy lullaby dreamscape before Gixn’s sweet harmonic vocals start to interplay with the affably resolving instrumentals.

With the lyrics unravelling like an unfiltered stream of consciousness and the melodic beats offering a smorgasbord of ambience, you’d be hard-pressed to find a more benevolently magnetic track on the airwaves from any artist – iconic or new!

Bennett – Stimulation: Melodically Smooth New Wave Trap

Las Vegas Hip Hop artist Bennett dropped their latest self-produced album Stimulation in March 2020, anyone who appreciates ahead of the curve ambient Pop Hip Hop are undoubtedly going to want to make time for this smooth melodic release.

The title-track is the perfect introduction to Bennett’s sentimental songwriting approach and talent when it comes to pulling together a light yet immersive soundscapes which will hook you in from the first verse.

Their New Wave Trap style borrows a few vocally harmonic elements from RnB Pop, but the futuristically fresh track firmly remains in the realms of contemporary Hip Hop.

Basil Panagop – Topaz featuring Fuaves: Downtempo-Jazz-Soaked Electronic Hip Hop

For their latest release, Basil Panagop teamed up with Fuaves to create a hazy, mellow work of Ambient EDM Hip Hop. Topaz may be a short and sweet track, but your mind will be suitably altered in the space of 2:22-minutes.

Topaz is definitely on the more alternative side of Hip Hop. Yet, there’s still plenty of mainstream appeal thanks to the undeniably indulgent resonance which is waiting to grip you once you hit play.

With layers of downtempo Jazz weaved into the soft and smooth EDM Hip Hop beats, it’s all too easy to lose yourself amongst the textures of the track. There’s plenty of mesmerism to be found between the long and tensile orchestral notes and the rattle of the Trap beats. That’s without mentioning the vocal experimentalism which spilt into the mix on the outro.

You can check out Topaz for yourselves by heading over to Spotify.

IamTheRealSir – Blue Eyes: Intoxicatingly Smooth Mellow Trap

Up and coming Trap artist IamTheRealSir dropped the video to their latest mix “Blue Eyes” on January 23rd. You may want to pay it some attention because Ambient Trap doesn’t often come as tension stripping as this.

Hard-hitting mellow Trap may be fairly rare, yet IamTheRealSir perfectly filled the gap on the airwaves with their intoxicatingly smooth track which will stay with you for long after it has faded out. They may be fresh from their inception, but their style and the ingenuity are equally as fresh. If anyone’s taking notes on how to use vocal reverb and keep the raw human emotion, you’ll want to hit play on Blue Eyes and grab a pen.

You can check out the official music video to IamTheRealSir’s latest single Blue Eyes via YouTube. The animation is just as immersive and artful as the track itself. The combination of the two is practically hypnotic.

The ingenuity in Hip Hop artist and producer Oda Kauffman’s mix “Chun Li Type Beat” doesn’t wait around before revealing itself.

The Canadian artist drops a new beat every day. Even if you don’t appreciate their immersive production style (you will), you should definitely find adoration in their unrelenting motivation to put out beats which are made to sink into and appreciate the rhythmically dynamic catharsis.

Even though there’s plenty of conviction behind the Trap style beats in Chun Li Type Beat, there’s also a trippy amount of ambient wavy reverb which makes the mix impossibly easy to slip into.

Di$mal has dropped their mellow 420-friendly jam “Feeling High”

https://open.spotify.com/album/2kd2jNYtdF0xYJP3ZB90AN

“Feeling High” is the third single to be released by breaking Hip Hop artist Di$mal. The stoner vibes drip from the smooth and melodic release in a way which is sure to enamour any fans of Snoop Dogg.

Yet, rather than assimilating the 420-friendly urban jams which have been around for as long as Hip Hop has, Di$mal stamped down their own signature style with a nuanced infusion of Trap. The contemporary up-vibe beats offer hypnotic fluidity, Di$mal’s mellifluous Rap bars also bring plenty of mesmerism into the mix.

After listening to the soulful serenity in Feeling High, there’s little room to wonder why there’s so much hype around the Nottingham-based artist.

Boris Massot Ft. EMRO – Disconnected Lines: Unadulterated EDM Hip Hop Catharsis

Alt Electronica Hip Hop artist and producer Boris Massot has followed on from their sensational debut “Running Out of Time” with their equally as resounding second single “Disconnected Lines”. This time, they teamed up with EMRO to create meltingly experimental RnB Trap mix which will undoubtedly amplify the hype surrounding them.

The concordant wavy grooves in Disconnected Lines prove just how disarmingly arrestive Hip Hop can be under the right production. While the constant vocal switch-ups keep the mix fresh from the first verse to the last. mike senze – Doughnuts: Tonally Warm, Playfully Sweet Jazz Hip Hop

There was no forgetting up and coming Hip Hop artist mike senze after checking out their tracks Restless, and Mega Blaster earlier this year. They’ve left us endeared for the third time in a row with their final track to drop in 2019 “Doughnuts”.

The melody to this playful Jazz-soaked Hip Hop earworm should come with a warning. As soon as you hear it, there’s no forgetting it. But there is the high chance that your friends will be wondering why you’re mumbling “hitting doughnuts in the streets” repetitively. With the hypnotic propensities of the soft fluid instrumentals and the pure charisma which drips from mike senze’s vocals and lyrics, it may not be your average urban aural hit. But it is an authentic work of ingenuity which more than deserves three minutes of your time.

SHA-BENGEZ – Shawty: Sticky-Sweet Wavy Trap

If you like your Trap on the wavier side, you may just find a playlist essential in up and coming Hip Hop artist SHA-BENGEZ’s recently released single “Shawty”.

With their accessible approach to Trap, there’s no room to wonder why SHA-BENGEZ isn’t short on acclaim. They may be relatively fresh from their inception. But that freshness resonates within their smooth concordant style.

With shimmering lashings of reverb over the solid Trap beats, there’s a lucidly strong platform for SHA-BENGEZ to lay down their slick verses. Shawty may not offer anything new with the lyrics, but sentimentally sweet Hip Hop tracks will always be timeless.

You can check out Shawty along with SHA-BENGEZ’s other releases via Spotify.
