Norway’s most experimental post-hardcore outfit, trueandtrue, is viciously rapturous in  ‘This is the Last Time’

To orchestrate their latest installation of intellectually crafted post-hardcore visceralism, the Norway-residing four-piece, trueandtrue, enlisted vocalist Tobias Osland (HAMMOK / SLØTFACE) to drive up the decibels in their heaviest single to date.

After a rancorous prelude that delivers all the frenetic chaos you would expect from any self-respecting post-hardcore release, This is the Last Time utilises stripped-back melodic increments with spoken with vindicating words verses to make the cataclysmic crescendos all the more viciously rapturous.

By finding the perfect balance between evocative lyrical triggers and experimental explorations that stamp down their ensnaring sonic signature that has more teeth than a whale shark, trueandtrue stayed true to the form of their moniker in their third release. We can’t wait to hear what follows.

Cosmic Order proved resistance isn’t futile in his outcry of an anthem, Warfare

With a music video that unravels with the same kind of dystopic aesthetic narrative as an Adam Curtis documentary and a definitively cataclysmic atmosphere created by the alt-rock instrumentals, the latest release from Cosmic Order is an eye-opening testament to the constructs of society that are rotten at their core and spreading hate through the masses.

In a bid to transcend the tragedy of the world through spirituality, art, and music, the one-man powerhouse which is Cosmic Order has succeeded in its mission of infusing hope and resilience into the human condition. On the basis of their latest single, Warfare, it is safe to say they’ve succeeded.

The vocalist, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, engineer, producer and performer Angelo Silvio DiPippo uses his juxtaposing life experiences, which have taken him from war zones in Iraq and Afghanistan to the raw beauty of the Sicilian countryside and pours them into the grounding gravitas of his work. Just as George Orwell saw it all before dedicating his life to overcoming tyranny, Cosmic Order is smashing through the bedrock of oppression with his discography.

While I can’t say I agree that androgyny and queerness are signs of end times and would contest that the moral trans panic is a far greater societal sin, the other points of contention in the outcry of a rock anthem are right on the money that the masses will never see if the space race billionaires continue to have their way.

The Tearless Life – Conversations with Angels: Heart-String-Tearing Post-Punk Transcendence

In the same way, Suicide, Joy Division, and Echo and the Bunnymen singles stir scintillating alchemy into melancholic souls, The Tearless Life’s seminal single, Conversations with Angels, is capable of the very same heart-string-tearing post-punk transcendence.

The cleverly intended imperfections in the production of the release from the East Lancashire outfit, which was founded earlier this year, only serve to add to the glitchwavey artfulness of the disjointed by dissonance single, which unravels as a lost-in-transmission call into the void.

While some howl into the void, others seek comfort in the realm of the celestial for comfort. If you can relate to the latter, your aural voyage into Conversations with Angels is guaranteed to be a visceral one.

Dark-pop icon, Lyra V, created the stormiest earworm of the year with ‘2 Late’.

If Avril Lavigne ever gave up her crown, the up and coming singer-songwriter Lyra V discernibly has what it takes to take her place as the pop-rock supreme. In her latest single, 2 Late, she uses her classical vocal training as much as her command over the ethereal atmosphere of her vocal timbre.

Melancholy pierces through the melodic verses and the stormy choruses to create a track that leaves no corner of the emotional spectrum unvisited. Hell hath no eloquent fury like a woman committed to projecting every ounce of visceral frustration into a soundscape. It’s the darkest earworm that you will hear this year. More impressively, the authenticity of her sonic signature is almost matchless.
