90s Indie Pop

Ami Leigh salved the souls of the romantically jaded with her pop-rock anthem, You’ll Find the One

‘You’ll Find the One’ is undoubtedly an expression everyone has heard in their darkest hours of romantic despair; yet, with her latest single which carries that mantra, the chameleonic singer-songwriter Ami Leigh augmented the consolation with soul-infused, rock-licked conviction.

By carrying the same artful visceralism as The Last Dinner Party in the pop-rock crescendos which drench the anthem in 80s nostalgia and entwining the high-octane elements with tender echoes of introspective 90s indie pop, You’ll Find the One will leave your heartstrings in knots while liberating you from anxiety and assumption you will die alone without another soul to call home.

You’ll Find the One may be a sonic departure from the artist’s previous hits, but with the same sense of affecting soul running through the veins of the single, it is yet another attestation to Ami Leigh’s ability to unify and heal through sound.

You’ll Find the One hit the airwaves on August 23rd; stream the single on Spotify and YouTube now.

90s Nostalgia meets the future of house in the Freshcobar & Golden Girl Remix of ‘Missing’.

Freshcobar & Golden Girl gave the iconic 1994 hit, Missing by Everything But the Girl the house treatment in their entrancing new remix that is set to drop on all major platforms on April 28th. The indie guitars have been stripped-back to make room for the big beats, even bigger drops, and the colossal atmosphere that cloaks the remix drenches you in nostalgia while allowing you to simultaneously sample the future of house music.

The Missing Remix is the third single from the producer Freshcobar and the San Diego vocalist Golden Girl. Together, they reincarnated the 90s classic hit with far more intensity and fervour than the original contained, but the vocal mystique is right on brand. The deserts may have missed the rain, but my God, the dancefloors will have also missed this hit. Not all heroes wear capes, sometimes they’re reimagining and enlivening the soundtracks to our youth.

The remix will launch via NOS Recordings; check it out on SoundCloud.

Danny Vye – Chasing Time featuring Stefan Kelk

In collaboration with Stefan Kelk, up and coming indie-pop artist Danny Vye released their debut album, ‘Blown Away’; and that’s exactly how it left us.

The standout single ‘Chasing Time’ is a testament to the UK-based artist’s talent in orchestrating simple yet simultaneously phenomenal feats of folky indie-pop. He didn’t need to deviate too far from the mould to create a viscerally magnetic single. Instead, he relied on the potency of vocal emotion, the poetry in the lyrics and the havoc that the progressive instrumentals play with your rhythmic pulses. If any track can leave you feeling like your soul is creeping up into your throat, it’s Chasing Time.

There’s a slight alt 90s feel to the track that seems to ooze the substance and gravitas that mainstream artists sorely lack. If you appreciate tracks that remind you of your capacity to feel, hit play.

Danny Vye’s EP, Blown Away, is now available to stream via Spotify.
