Bäckar – Anything for You: Sonically Entrancing Indie Synth Pop

With their debut single “Anything for You”, LA-based artist and songwriter Bäckar created a new trajectory in the evolution of Pop.

Within the multi-layered single, you’ll find the cool tones of Indie Shoegaze guitars, the throbs of Post-Punk basslines, 80s synthpop and elements of ensnaring world music under the entrancing Dance Pop beats. Under a less masterful production, it would be utter chaos, yet, Bäckar pulled it together with synergetic and euphoric ease.

There’s nothing I could say to prepare you for the sonically enrapturing energy in Anything for You. It’s beyond anything you’ve ever heard.

Embrace the nostalgias of summers past with up and coming artist Komputer Kid’s synthy glitchy 80s Synth Pop hit “Summer Again”.

The convergence of 80s Synthpop with 70s Funk takes you on a nostalgic aural trip. But thanks to the sleek production of Crystal Ball, it’s a radio-ready hit which oozes contemporary appeal.

It’s trippy, it’s melodic, and it’s infinitely endearing. Naturally, it’s all too easy to warm to the eccentrically dreamy tones and sticky-sweet vocals which sit in perfect synergy with the stylistically psychedelic beats.

Malene Markussen is here with enchanting anthem ”Some Kind of Rescue”

Malene Markussen is a fantastic Norwegian singer-songwriter based in Oslo, Norway. Her music is rooted in the pop-electronic sound style and is inspired by artists such as Sia, Røyskopp and The Midnight.

This song is all about staying strong no matter what. You might seem strong on the outside but inside things could be way different. It’s so important to see more that what meets the eye and to be sensitive to this. We all need to look after each other in this world no matter what our differences. A hug and a gentle conversation always helps when someone is down. We can all rescue someone if we care enough.

”Some Kind of Rescue” is a stunning song from this stupendously talented performer. She sings with her heart on her sleeve and I feel like I’m in another world while listening to her so intently. The violin in this song top everything off and she is a special talent that is going to blossom globally.

80’s flavored pop with ”Now or Never” from Julo

You get a few moments in life when you need to make a call. Are you going to take control and make use of your opportunity in life or let it go and possibly miss out?

”Now or Never” from Julo is a brand new song out that has 80’s influences laced all over the pink leggings. This track reminds me of Kylie Minogue so much and feel like the single has the same kind of vibe. After working with different bands and doing session work this is the beginning of a new dawn for German singer Julo. She has just been signed by Asahi Music and is now working with popular Dutch producer, writer and remix wizard Matt Pop.

This is a happy song that fills my heart with good memories and will be played all over the world by youngsters and pop fans. In a serious world full of protests and paranoia I enjoyed this welcome break from it all. The song is all about taking that chance and perhaps Julo is talking about her new chapter. She could of carried on with doing her music the same way but chose to take a new direction which must be applauded. This is a new artist that will be exploding her energy and dancing shoes all over music channels and concerts in due course.

Brigham Hollywood – Malicious: A Playfully Modern Take on Retro Dance Pop

Up and coming Alt Electronica artist Brigham Hollywood made their debut with their EP Computer Generated Idiocy in March 2020. As you’d expect from an EP with such a title, the producer made experimentalism and expression the heart of each of the soundscapes.

The first track Malicious is the perfect introduction to their accessibly eccentric songwriting and production style which will register as an infectious aural treat for any fans of Daft Punk and Disclosure.

With playful nuances of House, 80s Synthpop and RnB all infused into the high tempo enticingly entrancing beats in Malicious, don’t be surprised if you’re left with a rather stubborn earworm after listening to Brigham Hollywood’s modern take on Retro Dance Pop.
