Inspired by lockdown: ‘Kindred Spirits’ from pianist Craig Sutcliffe warms the heart

This is a wonderful instrumental-only full album from a pianist who was inspired by the words from a lady in the crowd. She told him to not keep this stunning music to himself and to get it out there into the world. He did just that. Who knew that playing a small Meditation Session would leave such a last impression.

‘Kindred Spirits‘ from pianist Craig Sutcliffe is a wonderful album that portrays so much peace and pureness. With a thoughtful melody in each song, we are taken on a journey that helps so much during these dark times.

This is the 5th studio release from Craig Sutcliffe and there are so many highlights here. The top tracks here are ‘Drift Away‘, ‘City Lights‘ and ‘Magical Life’. The marvelously created riffs are like a butterfly landing on your shoulder when you are sad. You forget about your worries for a few moments and remember that life has so many beautiful moments to enjoy.

‘Infatuation‘ from Laz, CoryaYo and Dacey is a late night love song that sets the mood quite nicely here with a Lo-Fi Hip Hop vibe with a sensual R&B feel. This is that extra love, that one where you know you need to take a breath and not overthink anything too much.

Laz is a Parisian-American Rapper and Singer-Songwriter who is the lead on this hot new track and he brings the fire here.

CoryaYo is a well-respected Chicago based Producer who’s music is really hot right now. He also packed his a-game here and this is a fresh sound that is happy element to a crazy year.

You love her so much and can’t stop thinking about her, you feel that she is the one. You are madly in love but are starting to think that you are maybe too into her or is this lust? There are so many feelings going on right now and you need a breath of fresh air to take this all in.

Laz, CoryaYo and Dacey form a terrific team on ‘Infatuation‘ and they all play their part. From a sexy beat, lyrical prowess on the raps and a sensually elegant female vocals, this is a magnificent song. You might want to get the candles for this one as you will find yourself singing along and wanting to play this for your lover.

‘Running‘ from Philippines born Michael Nathan is a story about how life can keep you on your toes and you feel you can’t catch up sometimes. This is an indie R&B track with vocals that catch your attention real quick.

Now based in the Bay Area in the USA, Nathan is a singer-songwriter, beat maker and also a music producer that is gaining traction in the music world daily. With a confident attitude and a real ear for top beats, we are in for a reflective ride here.

Taken off the brand new full album ‘The Web‘, this is a fine new track full of R&B dressing that mixes so well in a classic kind of way. This is a throwback from a fairly new musician that has had a successful start in his career. With a fresh look, tight marketing and a voice that is so authentic, a huge future surely awaits.

Michael Nathan rips through the mic on ‘Running‘ and this is a song that most of us can relate too. Sometimes life comes fast and we need to be on our toes.

New Release A Week Movement: GieoSound shows us what is to come on ‘To Be Continued‘ and this is a new single that showcases the hard work that needs to take place to make it to the top of the music game.

Based in Surrey in the UK, this is a young and motivated talent that brings his a-game here. The production is alive and the lyrics tell us everything about the future. It is looking promising. With raps, singing and a punchy piano-filled beat, this is a foot-stamping effort.

With lots of determination and the right mindset, this is a musician with a taste for making lots of music and improving the skill set daily.

GieoSound is terrific on ‘To Be Continued‘ and this is a sign to come, a message to the world that this is someone we need to take seriously. Its this type of attitude that wins and the beat meshes so well to percolate a taste that is so welcoming. With more music each week, this is a listen that needs to be bookmarked.

Isla Croll showcases her tremendous vocal ability with the true-life ‘All About You‘, a story about how some people can be so selfish and only think about themselves. This is a fine effort from The Voice UK Kids Semi-finalist 2020, who performs all over the UK and also is a regular on TV.

Isla Croll is a Jazzy/Soul/R&B singer who started taking music lessons at aged 9. The Hampshire-based musician is a name for now and the future due to her incredible voice and terrific songwriting skills.

You care about them so much but they keep on showing you some traits that you are really worried about. They only think about themselves and this is concerning to you as you are the opposite. Will this last or do will you find someone with your same morals?

With a soulfully genuine voice and humble attitude, you just know that this is a young, talented musician with the world at her feet. Isla Croll sings so effortlessly and this is a pleasure to the earlobes.

‘All About You‘ shows us how this gifted artist is growing each day and this is a debut to remember. You will be singing along all day and this is for all ages.

Glamorous New York-based DJ/Model Dayna Roman shows her class with new single ‘My Love‘ and this is a supremely delicious spin that is well worth a place on your music playlists. She bends the decks with master precision and shows us what good music sounds like in 2020.

Born in the Middle East and raised in Chicago, Dayna soon moved to LA and from there everything changed. After signing to the prestigious Wilhelmina modelling agency, she soon got into DJ-ing and enrolled in Scratch Academy. The thirst to be best has kept her focused and the results are quite tremendous.

With a breathlessly gorgeous beat, this is a gritty track that features such scrumptious vocals to wake you out of your current grumpy mood thanks to current times. This is a dance floor slider if there ever was one and I’m not talking about the burger either. There is so much to like here, the rhythm of the track is made with such quality and my feet can’t stop tapping. I imaging waving at Dayna while she plays live, screaming at the top of my lunge too to show appreciation for this excellent EDM track with so many layers that unzips beautifully in my ears.

A slump-buster if there ever was one, the classy cool DJ/Model Dayna Roman has brought us an absolute ripper here and ‘My Love‘ will surely cheer you up and remind you that real love is possible. Turn your phone off, get to a proper speaker and dial that volume up. You are welcome.

‘Sorry, I’m Not‘ from Chinese C-Pop/R&B artist Echo Huang is a song with genre-bending skill about heartbreak that shines through the dark clouds of current times. The Berklee College of Music student is on a mission to combine these two styles to educate her homeland and also create her own lane in the music highway.

Currently based in Boston, you get the feeling that this young musician is finding her voice really quickly. With a fresh sound and lots of self-motivation, this is the start of something special. Inspired by OG Chinese artists, Whitney Houston, D’Angelo and Erykah Badu just to name a few, Echo is learning from the best but also doing things in her own way.

You know your self-worth and refuse to let anyone push you around. You are sad that things ended and the friendship is over but they walked over you way too many times. The trust barrier is broken like a car that needs a much-needed service.

Echo Huang sings with such grace on ‘Sorry, I’m Not‘. She knows her value and isn’t letting anyone bring her down. With a lovely voice and clever lyrics, this is such an enjoyable listen that keeps you hooked all the way through. I love the way that Echo writes music, her lyrics catch your attention and the beat meshes perfectly with the message.

This is an artist with so much talent and authenticity, which is just what we needed in this crazy year. She has made this writer a huge C-Pop/R&B fan and many more will follow.

‘Young Humble & Gifted‘ from SoCal’s Tristen Zett is an inspirational story of backing yourself and not putting yourself down. Life is way too short for that and this is a Hip Hop song to remind ourselves that its natural to be in love and to go for it in life.

Taken off the new 11 track album ‘On The Edge‘, this is a top notch single that flows all the way so nicely like a new water park on a hot summers day.

You know you will make it in life. You feel it in your fingers and your bones. Life is tough right now in the world but you are feeling great and refuse to let anything bring you down. You have visualized greatness and that is where you are headed.

Tristen Zett is really bold on ‘Young Humble & Gifted‘ and with a punchy packed beat that will get you dancing, this is a rapper full of confidence. You will recognize the sample and this is a track to enjoy with friends at a house party or cruising in the car. With fresh swagger, this is a Hip Hop artist who is learning the game and just wants to help people out there in the world to believe in themselves. This is a message we can all get behind.

With a sunshine-vibe kind of start, you just know that this is going to be a top track. The New York based duo have created such a romantic masterpiece here. This is the type of song to play with that special person in your life as it feels so right, life is happy and the stars are so bright.

You love her so much and want her to be free as you support her all the way. You don’t want to get hurt but this feels different and you jump into this journey that makes you smile so much.

‘Million Miles‘ by Indie-Folk act Alex Anthony Band is a true tale about moving forward in life and to not let anyone hold you down. The world is wild enough and there is no time for doubters but you feel like you need to leave your current situation.

Taken off the recently released 7 track album ‘Lets Get Some Sleep‘, this is a lovely single that weaves into your heart like a cozy and well-fitted jersey made by Gran for Christmas. This is the type of song that has been missing in 2020 and we are in for a treat- without the trick.

After one of his songs was picked up by CBS’s The Young and the Restless, life changed for Alex and this shows you to follow your dreams. You just never know what is out there in this crazy life. With his band mates with him for this journey, you feel like Alex is in the right place now and doesn’t need to move away and find a new town.

Alex Anthony Band are fantastic on ‘Million Miles‘ and this is an effort to savor. The lyrics are made from real stories of life and the band are in full flow. This is that top drawer type of music that makes you think, heals your heart and deserves to be heard.
