As someone that spends a fair amount of time getting sucked into YouTube holes of heavy Electronica OSTs, it was easy for me to wish that Static Drives latest single Cathedral would stretch on forever.
The subtle pulls of the progression lead you through the 2:30-minute bass-heavy beat which packed plenty of digital reverb to suck you into the powerfully composed single. The pulses and vibration amplify the precision in the beat and kicks of the rhythm. There really aren’t enough good things to be said about the experimentally pioneering bass-driven serving of ethereal reverberance. Even though the instrumental track is void of vocals and lyrics you could still feel the pure, organic emotion being thrown into the mix.
You can check out Static Drives’ latest single Cathedral for yourselves now by heading over to SoundCloud. If you like what you hear, you can check out the mammoth 17-track compilation ‘The Vapidity Mix’. After you’ve listened to the release from start to finish, I’m sure you’ll join me in saying that it’s rare to happen across such an indulgently visceral Electronica mix.
