If you didn’t get quite what you wanted for Christmas, it may be time to stop reeling and check out the latest single by Sprove which dropped on Christmas day.
To create his high fire beat “NUVO” he teamed up with Trap vocalist Ye Ali whose reverb-laden vocals made for a sweet contrast to Sprove’s R&B Hip Hop style. Beat-wise, the melody to NUVO is all too easy to slip into, yet, throughout the progression of the single I couldn’t help but think the misogyny which was fairly potent in the verses took away the contemporary edge. While it’s natural for music artists to want to put romanticism to rights in their vocals, it’s safe to say that the female half of the population may find it hard to find resonance within NUVO.
