If you’re anything like me, you’ll hear a soundscape which was strictly moulded by the constraints of just one genre and feel thoroughly disappointed. But thankfully, plenty of artists are waking up to the possibilities of completely throwing away the notion of genre compliance.
SO are just one of the acts who have seen the light and are reinventing how their tracks resonate with the listener. While that may make my job of describing their tracks incredibly difficult, the ingenuity behind the mix is more than appreciated.
With each progression of their latest single “On the Mic” you’re left with the anticipation of how the track will seamlessly evolve next. Typically, progressive singles usually happen over the duration of an extended track, yet On the Mic treats you to a consistently progressive mix in under three minutes. On the Mic should be of plenty of interest to fans of Alt Hip Hop and experimental Electronica. If you could imagine a mash up of Bjork and Skepta, you might be able to get an idea of what SO have cooked up with their latest single.
