Alt Hip Hop fans are sure to appreciate the magnetic appeal contained in up and coming Rap artist SirRil’s latest single “Why” ft MpdTheGod. It’s moody, dark, it’s inventively structured, and it contains plenty of plaintive soul.
Instead of offering an archetypal feat of melancholic Trap, SirRil has cooked up a downtempo progressive mix which carries reminiscences to artists such as Saul Williams. But despite the experimentalism with the beats, Why is still an impossibly easy track to slip into. Once the beat hooks you in, you’ll have little choice over whether the candid, frustrative and questioning lyrics resonate. The production on the single may be slightly low, but there’s still an incredible atmosphere put behind Why.
