Silver Locusts’ debut album “Catch a Robot” was my first experience with Stoner Punk, but I’m more than here for it now that I’ve experienced the innovative high-octane arrestive energy which has been fed into tracks such as “Lullaby”.
Crashing symbols join an arrangement of fuzzy rumbling basslines and Math Rock guitars creating a momentous track, but as much energy as the track delivers, the production on Lullaby leaves you with an incredibly mellifluous soundscape. There’ll be no grimacing as the arrangement breaks down into a chaotic whirlwind of spiralling rhythm, instead, you’ll be able to soak up the grinding melodies which your rhythmic pulses will be more than inclined to align with.
The vocals also play a heavy hand in inducing you into a state of transfixion while Lullaby unfolds violently thrashing its way up to an explosive outro which will leave you itching to hit repeat to try and make sense of how the Grungy track could transcend into such blissful urgency.
You can check out Lullaby along with the rest of Silver Locusts’ latest album for yourselves by heading over to Spotify now.
