Up and coming Indie artist Rumia has made a stunning debut with her first single “Hurt”.
The single kicks off with a Nick Cave-style pensive piano melody paired with Rumia’s softly arrestive vocals which resonate like an ethereal whisper. But through subtle progressions the momentum gently builds, and the instrumental arrangement welcomes in percussion and guitars to lead you through intricate Indie rhythms. Hurt only fades out after you’ve been treated to a synthy full-bodied Post Punk mix which spills hints of 80s nostalgia.
Debut singles don’t get much more promising than Hurt. It’s going to be incredibly exciting to see hear what follows.
