Rap artists can generally fall into one of two categories; ones that actually have something to say and those making music just for the sake of it – Rowzen is most definitely the former. With his latest drop Intro he teamed up with the sensually talented female vocalist Ashley Ramsay to stamp down his authoritative wit and original style.
Straight from the prelude Rowzen separated himself from his contemporaries with a soft acoustic guitar intro and inventive sampling before the verses which were steeped with gritty realism kicked in. Not a lot of Rap artists are all too keen to run a commentary on the fact we’re all doped up on Xanax to cope with modern day disparity, but Rowzen stepped to the mic in this lyrically genius, mix. The track may only run for two minutes, but the sentiment contained within the Hip Hop Rap mix is more than enough to make you think twice.
