“Movie Star” is the latest charismatically cinematic good vibes single from up and coming contemporary Pop artist Robert Southworth. While there are plenty of classic elements to the single, there’s also plenty of aspects to the polished single which ensure that Movie Star is more than worthy of a spot on the 21st century airwaves.
Rather than just creating an archetypal pop hit, you’ll also get to appreciate funk-filled basslines, orchestral swells, synth pop, and Hip Hop. The unpredictability of Movie Star amplifies the immersive textures; it is highly perceptible that Robert Southworth has no problems cooking up a perennial earworm of a single. Yet, I can’t help but feel that his ability as a songwriter has been somewhat limited by the slightly superficial nature of single.
