Ray & the Fool – Alive in Me: Experimentally Quaint Alt Rock

With no use for a prelude Ray & the Fool’s latest single “Alive in Me” kicks in to start from the very first note. The Alt Rock artist combined elements of Stoner Garage Rock with jangly guitar progressions and a Trap style beat which served as the instrumental backbone to the track. So, it’s safe to say there aren’t too many artists putting out a similar sound which runs with a quaint amount of innocence and naivety. The melodies could have been a little softer in parts to help the sentiment behind the lyrics to resonate, yet, apart from that it’s hard to find a flaw in the up and coming artist’s recent single. If you could imagine a more sugared version of Fidlar or Wavves you’d get a pretty good idea of Ray & the Fool’s style.

Alive in Me was released as part of Ray & the Fool’s 5-track EP “Black Rabbit” on September 21st, and you can check it out for yourselves by heading over to SoundCloud now.
