It’s easy to think you’ve heard it all when it comes to music, but when you stumble across a Hardstyle cover version of Tom Waits’ “Rain Dogs” every ounce of cynicism you hold for the future of music flies out of the window.
The exceptionally prodigal artist responsible was QQ; a London, UK-based electronic producer who has a deft hand when it comes to creating hard-hitting floor fillers. While high-pitched vocals over electronica mixes are usually a recipe for a grating disaster, QQ pulled it together perfectly. I mean, there’s really no going wrong with the lyrics of Tom Waits, is there?
This track definitely isn’t for the fainthearted, but beat freaks are going to be in heaven with the stylistic aural chaos which QQ has cooked up with this pioneeringly stunning single.
