“Some Notes” is the fairly misleadingly titled latest mix from electronic producer Opposite Reaction who allows his soundscapes to push against the boundaries of electronica by weaving in elements of Neo-Classical. With piercing piano melodies thrown into the mix, Some Notes unfolds with a cinematic magnetism, yet it leaves the listenability and contemporary appeal of the electronica intact.
It may only be a relatively short and sweet track, but everything about Some Notes feels incredibly epic. Whether it’s the tight intricacy of the drums, or the ethereal energy which ebbs and flows around the deeper notes, it’s highly unlikely that you won’t be able to find a reason not to hit repeat on the striking 2018 composition from the Russian artist.
