“Wet Dreams” is the latest single to be released from Atlanta-based Pop Singer Songwriter Melody Reyne who has already established herself through her unapologetically attitude-driven style in her former releases. While many Pop artists may like to play up images of vulnerability, Melody Reyne has ran in a totally different direction with her beats which are packed with sun-soaked salacity and empowerment.
The Afrobeat rhythms and deep reverberant basslines infuse an infinite amount of flavour into the Pop soundscape. Yet as much as I appreciated the vibrancy and the energy of the beats in Wet Dreams, it was impossible to truly appreciate Melody Reyne’s vocal talent due to the vocal effects which didn’t allow them to flow naturally. Instead, there was a perceptibly glitchy feel to the vocals which detracted from the lyrical delivery.
