After hearing the heart-breaking story behind Rainbow, the poignantly pensive singer songwriter’s title track from his latest EP hit me that little bit harder. With Rainbow, Malcolm Duff alongside composer and co-songwriter Maristela da Silva created a reticently resounding melody which perfectly matched the lyrics written for his father shortly before his passing. Any fans of Sea Stick Steve are sure to love the sea-song style of Rainbow, each chord progression of the acoustic guitar pulls you into the track that little bit further. Combined with the harmonica, you’re in for an hauntedly beautiful ethereal ride from the Normandy-based artist who boast one of the most mesmeric vocal abilities I’ve heard from an up and coming acoustic artist in a long time.
