With so many up and coming Indie artists, many fail to set themselves apart or prove that they have the capacity to offer something fresh and vibrant. US-based powerhouse Mahogany Purple perceptibly didn’t struggle in that department.
If you could imagine what Incubus would sound like if they carried more mainstream commercial potential, you’d get an idea of what you can expect from Mahogany Purple’s latest EP “Late to the Party”.
While each of the singles was as soulfully captivating and pioneeringly orchestrated as the last, the best introduction to Mahogany Purple’s unique and authentic style is the single “I Want” which offers a melodious smorgasbord of Rock, Pop, Indie, Soul, and Jazz.
I can quite honestly say I’ve never heard an outro like what I Want contains. While each of the progressions was mesmerising by default, there’s a sense of resolution as you get to hear the experimental soundscape wind to a gratifying close.
You can check out I Want along with the rest of Mahogany Purple’s latest EP for yourselves by heading over to Spotify now.
