There may not be all too many Trap tracks inspired by gratitude. Thankfully, up and coming artist L4rge’s latest single “Thank God” is a refreshing change.
The bars still offer a pensive sting, and there’s still a downtempo cathartic flow to lock into, but the inspiration and sentiment behind the single transforms the experience of listening to the track. There’s no apathy or grandiosity to drink in, just wavy uplifting mantras which won’t fail to resonate.
Thank God is a track which offers a potent serving of humility. But more importantly, it’s a gently inspiring reminder that no matter how rough the world gets, we’ll always have something to be thankful for. That’s definitely something we all need to hear more of in 2020. And now, I can’t think of one artist better equipped to bring it than L4rge.
