Mill Valley, US-based Hip Hop Rap artist Kid Wolf may self-proclaim in his bio that he’s ‘just a guy with a groovy flow’. Yet, his latest single “Last Hurrah” which dropped in January 2019 proved that he is as humble as he is rhythmically gifted.
Usually it takes a while to slip into the sound of a new artist’s music. Yet, Last Hurrah kicks off with an invitingly accessible smooth prelude before slipping seamlessly into verse, keeping the downtempo ambience which carries elements of Electro Pop with hints of Trap.
While the beats have a slightly dark and moody tonality throughout, Kid Wolf’s vocals emotively switch up throughout Last Hurrah from melancholic introspective to the upbeat choruses. Whilst there’s a fairly pensive vibe to the track, Kid Wolf’s expressive style sugars the soundscape in a way that won’t allow you to forget Lust Hurrah for long after the track has faded to a close.
